Hello :D I was wondering if it was possible if you could extract the songs used in a finished renpy game. I really liked a few songs from a game and contacted the creator, but they were unable to send me the links since they didn't remember where they got them. If anyone could help me with this I would really appreciate it! Thanks :)

Well, I'm not too sure about this, but I'll try to help.

If you've contacted the creator, than I think it's alright for you to "extract" the songs. I thought it was illegal or something, but since you've contacted the creator, you should be fine.

You can try typing in the game name into YouTube and typing ost or soundtrack behind it, and see if anyone has the song. If they do, you can use flvto.com to download it into a mp3.

If you don't, I think Audacity would help. You can just Google it and download it, (it's free), and then once you're done installing and stuff, you can record the song. Just hit the record button, open up the game and play the song. You shouldn't progress the game, in case there are some sound effects, which might also get recorded.

I've checked on Yahoo, and found two answers to your questions. Hopefully, that may help.

Hope I helped you in some way, at least.

The music is either available as regular files in the game folder, or packed in a .rpa archive. There exists a Python script (unrpa.py) that lets you extract the contents of .rpa files.

More important than getting an okay from the game creator is getting an okay from song creator. If the game uses free to use music, then there's no problem. Now if not... besides, you still need to credit properly for every song you use in your game (meaning you need to at least know who create those songs, free or not).
