Hi guys! I'm working on a fun otome game and I have half the script more-or-less ready!
(Also, this is my first post here - hello!)
I have a question about using em-dashes in Ren'py...
I wrote my script in TextEdit and copied over the script containing the em-dash but it turned into a normal hyphen. Is there a special bit of code I need to create an em-dash? I imagine I'll need other weird punctuation commands later down the line too!

You don't have to code anything special. You can just copy and paste it. Run the game and check if it's not an mdash first--in the code an mdash may look shorter (at least it does for me in JEdit), but how it looks in-game depends on your font.
As for other punctuation characters, it often depends on your font, but the one that requires a bit of work is in the case when you use quotes, " then you have to precede them with a backslash. \" like that.
