I was wondering whether this is of interest - NANEL (Non-Asian Non-English Language) versions of visual novels / dating sims (finished ones) - in essence games which are available in other than English, Japanese and Korean or Chinese.

I know for instance that there are a few Russian translations of commercial VNs, although I don't have an idea which ones :( . I have generated a HTML from my list that I casually keep to show what I know so far.

My question is whether it is an interesting subject - or whether it's not really important to track. :?

Anyway...

By my book, any information is worth tracking (for the sake of completion, this is certainly interesting enough). Nevertheless, this subject sounds rather difficult to cover.

I find it interesting, bordering on useful. If I knew more of those languages and my English skills weren't as good as they are, I would find it a lot more useful.

Not really useful for me, since I'm not really looking for foreign language VN, but I guess it's worth keeping track of for archival reasons. However, if you don't have the time, then I don't think it'll be a big loss if you drop it.

You can grill WinKi-san about this, as he is a translator, so he might know something.
His works: http://www.dsp2003.narod.ru/

And yes, it is definitely a great idea!!!

What do the green cells mean? Wait, let me guess... Original language? ;)

Well this is interesting. I see 2 french versions out of 3 I don't know o_O... now a clickable version would be interesting :3

Wow, I didn't expect that much interest, but it's great!

The thing is, for the English list I keep (see sig), I add this NANEL info about completed translations whenever I have it - but it's really possible only casually, when someone points this out or when the information is alongside the information about an English version, like here. Because I think it's unrealistic to specifically actively look for NANEL versions the same way I do for English (well, I am on the lookout for CZE and SVK, since that's the languages I am okay with, and to be honest the CZ and SK speaking sites are relatively easy to monitor, they are not really that many)

But anyway, thanks to 000, now I know there is a Russian translation of Red Shift (those 2 years learning Russian came in handy :) though don't know whether that translation was authorized or not - I'm guessing no.)

monele >> good guess, but I added a legend anyway now... as for the the HTML version, that contains those small flag pictures, and I don't want to upload that to a site - I can theoretically upload it as a zipped file here, but it's really not a huge list, so a picture is quicker.

I have a more girly template now, see first post :)
