Okay, since I've been churning out a lot of art I decided just to make my own thread to spare the poor overused art dump thread that I've sorely abused.

Okay, first off, this CG

Image

First CG I've done on my own sorta, but mostly me trying out my tablet. This is going to be another project later on hence the title at the top. Middle girl is the protagonist :B

I'll behonest, I think you should work on the line art a bit more. I love your style, but you should work on line with. as for shading, try not to do it too soft because it it gets a look as if it was bleeding. Other than that, good job and I hope to see more.

BTW, I like the way you use Copics, I think that's more of your forte.

Yeah, I've been using Copics more than I've been CGing. (Just got my tablet last Sunday :P) I'm working on lineart right now on my latest piece and I'd have to say that it looks much better. Thanks for the crit though, I need it if I want to improve on lines seeing as it's one of my difficult spots.

EDIT: Aaaaand just finished this CG today now with BETTER lines! :D I used the hard light coloring technique Deji had on one of her tutorials. I like the results although I want to have more details especially with hair. I'm better with hair with traditional techniques. ;;

You style is very cute :D
I'm glad you found my tutorial useful :P

I think the tone of your shading is a bit too desaturated. I've been playing around with the Multiply coloring lately, why don't you give it a try? Using lilacs, pinks and light blues you get very nice results ^^

I spent some time playing around with your image, to see if I could help... I hope you don't mind =x
This is the way I see your character, but maybe is not what you had in mind ^^;

first is yours, second is cel shading, third is the layer I used for the cel shading, and the fourth is... the result of me playing around with it ^^;

the PSD is here in case you want to look at it :3 (2.8 mb)

I'm eager to see more of your pretty characters ^^

Also go on my Deviantart page and try to look for "Favorite", then browse my "favorite" and look for a section that says "tutorial and brushes."

Man, I have too many thank you's for you Deji XD

Anyways, just a quick CG and trying out filters. This one didn't turn out as nice as my promo image for [Phase Shift], but it's still charming to me.

That's a CG? The filter works wonderfully! It looks like a really cute crayon drawing. Which filter did you use?

Also, that girl is cute. Reminds me of Haibane Renmei. ^.^

I used the Noise filter mainly, but for this particular CG, I also used Distort>Diffuse Glow. The noise filter is good to use if you try to achieve a watercolor look to your CG after coloring with the airbrush tool.

And yeah, this was an old sketch I doodled down after watching that series XD

Oh, nice use of filters. =D

Also, I really like that girl's hair for some reason. XD

Just trying out different ways to color eyes... This way is fun and really easy using the burn and dodge tools on PS, but I think it'd only look good if you did soft cell cging and not cel-shading like I've been doing...

EDIT: Also, extra doodle just to mess around with PS
