Here's a screencap of Emily's first appearance. The character sprite is not QUITE finished, and I didn't adjust the bg. I was just testing how my sprites would look in-game, but I have to say, I like the results of my work so far.

Woah oh! The perspective and proportions are completely off. She looks at least six meters tall!

A body length of 3 heads is just about as long as anyone's going to risk going, and it takes a lot of skill to actually pull it off successfully. (CLAMP-level skills) Not to mention that with the POV of the background considered, the sprite needs to be positioned further down so that she doesn't have the appearance of having four meter long legs.

Haha, like I said, I didn't switch out the bg because I was just testing out how the sprite would look :P That's why it looks weird against that background. I appreciate your input though. I do agree that she looks a bit too tall... But I guess that's just because I haven't set her against a bg that would justify that height. Gonna scale it down anyways, it's going to be a problem later on.

I got lots of work on BGs to do, but characters are first priority :B

Tried out the game demo; I'm looking forward to your final release. : D The whole thing about the mysterious man, and then the strange girl in white... and then you suddenly end the demo! D : I hate cliff hangers!! TT_TT It really peeked my interest though, hope you'll finish it some time soon.

I'm glad I intrigued you maufii! XD It's a goal of mine to finish up chapter one and combine it with the prologue to make it a more satisfying demo. All of the main characters should be introduced then :3 But doing this by myself during my senior year in high school is tough, especially since I've been putting schoolwork above the project mostly. But I'll do my best to finish!

New character who is supposed to appear in chapter one-- Slightly minor, but she is rather important. Amelia Steinbeck, Bianca's old high school teacher who is giving her a place to stay in Blackgale for the duration of the story.

Finalized version of the Emily sprite. Looking at this and comparing it to the sprites I made in [Phase Shift] make feel as if I've come a long way in terms of CGing and lineart and art in general. I have to give credit for Deji for helping me improve and giving me tips. Emily is now a very pretty character sprite thanks to her :3 At least in my delusional mind, you guys can tell me what you think

I think the shading looks pretty nice. I'm kind of tempted to say that the colours on her clothing are a bit over-saturated.

The majority of the problems actually lie in the anatomy. The worst part are the hands. There are other things wrong with the anatomy, but I'm not sure how to describe it...

The art has improved since the last update though.

Thanks for the crit Samu-kun, I'll be sure to check on anatomy next time I draw my characters :P. As for hands, what can I say, they are my worst enemy. :P Practice, practice, practice. I'm happy you could see some improvement though, it means my work hasn't been for nothing.

Edit: Also, I think I know what might be wrong with the anatomy-- it's that darn left arm... It's okay, but yeah DX
