So I've been interested in galges for a while however I know nothing about them. After a little research i figured out that what i want is a Non-Adult Ren'ai/dating sim game.

So i was wondering if i could get some suggestions for one for my PSP :]

I appreciate any help thanks :D

Hey Badlands, welcome to the forum.

As you might have guessed from browsing this forum, most of the original English language ren'ai games that are being created are only on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Also, in case you weren't sure, most of the games that get translated into English are Windows exclusive. There are some for current consoles... but no one game system has more than a few renai games in English.

I recommend trying some of the freeware PC games on http://www.renai.us first, and perhaps also the demos on http://www.hanakogames.com first. That might help you decide what you like, and what you won't like.

On PSP:
- Mimana Iyar Chronicles was just released last week by Aksys. According to this article on Gamertell -- http://www.gamertell.com/gaming/comment ... chronicle/ -- it's a fantasy RPG with a few dating simulation elements. It will currently cost you $40... and there aren't many reviews just yet. So unless you love the art and premise, you might want to wait.

- Riviera the Promised Land was released a few years ago by Atlus. I'd describe it as a low budget RPG which adds moe characters and a few ren'ai elements to the serious plot. I found a UMD a while ago for $20, but it's probably out of print. So if you have access to the Playstation Store, you might have more luck there -- a paid download of Riviera is $15.

- Harvest Moon Boy and Girl is on PSP UMD and the Playstation Store. (So is Innocent Life, but that game isn't about relationships.) And in April, Hero of Leaf Valley will be available. ...I like Harvest Moon Boy and Girl, which is a compilation of the original Playstation games, but I freely admit that the 3D graphics look rather poor, and the save/load system is not helpful.

- Brooktown High was an attempt to create a western dating simulation. I didn't care much for the graphics or the writing (the word "emo" should not be used as a cute substitute for "emote"), and the gameplay seemed to be similar to the Urbz games from a few years ago. I've seen it used for $8 or so, and it's not on PS Store at the moment.

If I missed any retail or PS Store exclusive games, be sure to add them.

If you don't mind playing ps1 games and unofficial translations on your PSP (assuming you can, that is ;)), I'd recommend Bloody Bride. It has a full English translation floating somewhere on the internet and it might be exactly what you're looking for: "a Non-Adult Ren'ai/dating sim game."

Review: http://www.honestgamers.com/reviews/848 ... Bride.html

I'd second the Mimana Iyar Chronicles recommendation. You can even choose the 9-year old loli. (just kidding... probably). It's more of an rpg, and I doubt there are character specific endings from lurking on gamefaqs' message board though, but you can apparently change how your party members "think" of you... whatever that's supposed to mean.

I totally forgot to mention Persona 3 Portable! The English version will be released in July 2010. I've read that compared to the PS2 versions, it has...

- Less cinema, and lower quality graphics
- Not much content from "The Answer" (which was in Persona 3 FES)
- Total party control
- Male and female leads

Projects: Ashes of Memory (in progress), black butterfly (more in progress), A Song for You (in progress), ???? (mystery project)
P3P is totally worth it for the female version~ Or, if you're like me, you've never played it before.
And the new music. :D

Yes.

And Akihiko-senpai~

Hexyz Force also has male and female leads, and from what I've seen written about it, it should have light dating elements as well.
