Hey Badlands, welcome to the forum.
As you might have guessed from browsing this forum, most of the original English language ren'ai games that are being created are only on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Also, in case you weren't sure, most of the games that get translated into English are Windows exclusive. There are some for current consoles... but no one game system has more than a few renai games in English.
I recommend trying some of the freeware PC games on
http://www.renai.us first, and perhaps also the demos on
http://www.hanakogames.com first. That might help you decide what you like, and what you won't like.
On PSP:
- Mimana Iyar Chronicles was just released last week by Aksys. According to this article on Gamertell --
http://www.gamertell.com/gaming/comment ... chronicle/ -- it's a fantasy RPG with a few dating simulation elements. It will currently cost you $40... and there aren't many reviews just yet. So unless you love the art and premise, you might want to wait.
- Riviera the Promised Land was released a few years ago by Atlus. I'd describe it as a low budget RPG which adds moe characters and a few ren'ai elements to the serious plot. I found a UMD a while ago for $20, but it's probably out of print. So if you have access to the Playstation Store, you might have more luck there -- a paid download of Riviera is $15.
- Harvest Moon Boy and Girl is on PSP UMD and the Playstation Store. (So is Innocent Life, but that game isn't about relationships.) And in April, Hero of Leaf Valley will be available. ...I like Harvest Moon Boy and Girl, which is a compilation of the original Playstation games, but I freely admit that the 3D graphics look rather poor, and the save/load system is not helpful.
- Brooktown High was an attempt to create a western dating simulation. I didn't care much for the graphics or the writing (the word "emo" should not be used as a cute substitute for "emote"), and the gameplay seemed to be similar to the Urbz games from a few years ago. I've seen it used for $8 or so, and it's not on PS Store at the moment.
If I missed any retail or PS Store exclusive games, be sure to add them.
