I'm stuck with Cain. All I could get is Cain's Normal Ending 2. How do I get the first Normal ending, good or best endings? And who has 3 bad endings?

Cyrus has 3 bad endings, to avoid Cain's normal ending 2, avoid using the blue orb in the fight with Shea.

I really want to ask though about the deaths things...

For those who have gotten some endings, some deaths are unavoidable, no matter how hard you try. For Volg, Cain, and Faye. Is that too cruel? Or necessary? I think all endings with all character alive is kinda...cheesy though.
