Guh...

I just finished EP5 End of the Golden Witch, and I just have to say, DAMN!

That one was better than all the rest of the series so far!

What I don't get is why everyone says they hate Bernkastel after all this?

I mean, sure, she's a monstrous bitch, but it wouldn't be nearly as exciting if she weren't.

And the way that Erika completely shut Battler down was pretty hardcore.

Sadly, I was spoiled before I read it, so I knew how he was gonna work his way out of it, but that didn't stop if from feeling any less dire or desolate when he was cornered like that.

I can't wait to get my hands on EP6.

Has anyone else played it yet?

Still playing EP5 but watched EP6 w/ ATLAS on a /jp/ stream.

wtf is this.
Battler is mean to moeblob Beato. ;___;
She calls him father!
And is a moeblob!
And he is mean!
I really hate Bern and Erika.
I couldn't stand Eva but when I read the Tanabata story, I wanted to weep for her and Ange and what Bern does to them.

Jessica is my favourite character now though so...
I can't wait to see her scene where she kills Kyrie!!
.

Though, most of the things I heard seemed like hardcore trolling...

God, EP5 made me feel the love for Natsuhi. I think in the end she's my favorite. If there's even on person in that family who truly values being an Ushiromiya, it's her. Too bad fate destined her never to truly be an Ushiromiya. Ryukishi is mean like that. XD

I'm interested in seeing
TrollBeato!!
I think seeing MoeBeato will be too sad, especially for how she was in EP5.
And I'm worried about this cookie-smashing I've heard about... ='[
Although, I sure as heck wanna know what's up with those demons!
Oh, you know who I'm talking about.
Zepar and Furfur
I seriously wanna know how they popped out of this whole thing and what Battler makes of them since,
being the game master, he would be the one behind making them now, XD
And what's this I hear about a battler gay joke in story?
Are these things connected? hihihi...
Or maybe that was trolling too?
Everyone keeps saying that EP6 gives new life to ShKanon theories, but I hope not.
I don't really like the idea.

Putting in my input, I enjoy both Higurashi and Umineko and what they present for entertainment. So many things to play around with your mind and so many things to think about.
Especially the fact that at the end of Higurashi Rei OVA, Rika states that it was time that she relieved herself of the title as Bernkastel, the Witch of Miracles, and continued her life as Rika Furude.
For Umineko though, the theory that intrigues me the most and what I would like to see the answer to is:
Shannon/Sayo theory being Lambdadelta's piece because Sayo was written as "34" which is the same as Lambdadelta's name, "34", Miyo Takano from Higurashi's name, "34", and so forth.

"Sayo" is not written as "34" in kanji, but it CAN be if you just change the kanji. But you can change the kanji of just about anything. Still, it's more common to be "Sanyo".

I'm glad I'm not the only one who enjoys Umineko. I'm plowing through 5 at the moment. Ahh, it is love indeed. It's my main inspiration for wanting to make a visual novel.
I'm hoping to download the English of Higurashi sometime soon, as well. Buying it of course.

Heheh. I'd try arguing but I lack the Japanese experience to say much.

Though the reason I did mention something like that was because of a friend of mine. She was taking Japanese classes at her college and one day, she was fiddling with the names of Umineko because it was obviously important since each name was spelled in a peculiar manner for names written in kanji (I forgot which I'd have to ask her again). Sitting there, she told me that by "3" and "4" in the language could be pronounced in different ways.

And much like on the computer how kanji would change when combined next to each other, when "3" and "4" mixed together along with the appropriate pronunciation, she revealed to me that it is then read as "Sayo."

XD But yeah, that's the extent of my knowledge. It's just a speculation, but it would be an interesting turn-out for
her to be Lambdadelta's piece.

WHAAAAA?! I totally forgot that it's almost August and that EP 7 would be coming out soon! Witch Hunt needs to hurry up and finish their translation patch! I've been waiting patiently to play EP 6 since December! T_T

They say they're 100% done with translating, and have 60% edited, so hopefully we won't wait much longer?

I've repeated myself so many times on the animesuki forums with this, but the main theories are:

Girl:

Shaknon - Two eagles in the same places and Shannon and Kanon. Lack of a proper chest. Androgynous ponytail? Golden butterfly broach on the table.
Older Jessica - Hair. Green amulet/broach thing the same as Natsuhi's. The buttons on her jacket are on the male side rather than the female side, the only girl character that has that is Jessica. She's wearing the head's ring.
Beatrice - Hair, head's ring.

Guy:

Younger Kinzo - Hair and that his jacket is similar to the head's cloak. Refuted by the fact that he's no ring or eagle on him. Wrong eye colour and the portrait of Beatrice is in the background. This means that this portrait was painted between the time that Battler left the Ushiromiya family for 6 years, since when he comes back the epitaph and portrait are there.
Kanon - Eh... not sure really why.
Some relation to Battler - Red strand of hair. Hairstyle.
Wizard Hunting Wright - He's been mentioned previously. Like how Dlanor has the Knox rules, he's expected to have the Dine rules. His necklace might suggest that also since it's similar to Dlanor's key design.
Man from 19 years ago - Possibly.

I'm incredibly excited about all this even though it's unlikely we can read it until December.

Witch Hunt's last report was that Ep 6 could possibly be done in a week! Can't waiiiiit!

The fact that they're on the cover of the case with Zeper and Furfur makes me think they're related to Shannon/Kanon at least in some way.

Has there been any more news on whether this will be the final game or not? There was an interview with Ryukishi before the release of EP 6 that stated he was contemplating ending the series with this game. The OCD part of me prays that such is not the case. I would love for the series to follow the pre-established pattern of 8 games partly for my desire for symmetry and partly because that would just mean more Umineko.

Extremely doubt that there's just Ep 7 left, in the new opening is zooms past a load of portraits and there's one blank one indicating there is another game yet to come. Tbh I would expect 8 games :)

Sooooo... I am currently unable to play because I am trying to install the game on a mac with a virtual disk version of the game, but the Witch-Hunt installer won't recognize it. Any suggestions?
