Re: Get that thing off your chest... Now...
My fiance and I are now looking for a new place to live. I like being friends with our roommates and I can tell that living together is putting a strain on that relationship, so I'd like to move out to end things cleanly and still be friends.
My grandmother offered me a place to live, but says that my fiance has to find a place to live on his own.
It's very frustrating, seeing as both of us are disabled and unable to work regular jobs. However we aren't "disabled enough" to get government assistance.
I really don't know where to find a place for my boyfriend, so he might have to go back with his family, who doesn't have the space or resources to help him and are located in the actual worst state for mental health care.
We're in California, so if anyone knows of a place to go, please do let me know.

Re: Get that thing off your chest... Now...
It's getting harder and harder to not just rip my hair out when I see Muslim characters in new VNs that are being worked on lately. Like???? Not even one is done right? Like what is everyone trying to do adding in such 'diversity' when you're not representing these characters and their religion correctly? Can I also just say that Muslims don't even want to be represented because it's not a big deal to us? Let alone the fact that when we do get 'represented' it's wrong as hell and I just feel like screaming?????

To state the sad, but obvious, truth. Everyone who is written in as a "representation" is always super negative. Then there are the ones that aim for good! However, they fall short of the true standard of a people or religion. Making it negative still! So I see where you are coming from. My ancestors would do anything to remove the falsehoods they had painted on them. Because even if the representation tried to "support" them, it would just hurt more.ofdawnandtwilight wrote:It's getting harder and harder to not just rip my hair out when I see Muslim characters in new VNs that are being worked on lately. @ NialGrenville: Yeah.... And frankly it's to the extent where I feel violated because even the simplest things are being done wrong- Not just in one WIP but all the ones I've seen so far? All have the exact same faults. It's like the characters are an entirely different thing altogether with the label 'Muslim character wearing hijab = Islam har har' slapped onto them without any research being done? But ANYWAY not gonna make it a huge problem, I'm totally fine now yeaaaah yep

Re: Get that thing off your chest... Now...
I just wish me and this one person I love could stay together.
I just wish their parents would understand their sexual orientation and just... makes thing easier on their end, so they could just stay with me without fear.
I love them more than I ever loved anyone, ever. I just feel so comfortable and special by their side, I just... they make me so happy. We spent the most wonderful six-seven months together.
Now they decided to end the relationship, due to fear of their parents finding out and interrupting our contact with each other altogether, and it hurts so much to be so sure that I'll never find someone as special as them... Someone that made me feel so accepted and loved just the way I am.
And the worst is that I just keep storing all grief to myself, because I don't want them to feel sad about their decision, or think they hurt me too much, But they did and I am so lost right now...

@UkiTheMaid : It's better to tell them and feel sorry afterwards (if speaking with them turned out to be a bad decision), than to not tell them but it left you wondering (and grieving) for the rest of your life...

Re: Get that thing off your chest... Now...
So my fiance had a non-epileptic seizure yesterday morning and we went to the ER. They did tests and a CT scan. When the doctor came to talk to us he said "So, tell me about your brain surgery."
We were stumped. As far as he knew, he'd never had surgery at all, let alone brain surgery. So we asked if the doctor was joking, and he said that he was not. He explained that my fiance has a burr hole in his skull, which can only happen due to surgery. He also said that it was leaking out brain matter, so my fiance's brain had been shrinking on one side, causing the seizures and spasms and general mental fogginess he's been experiencing for a while. We got a disc with the CT scan images on it, and sure enough there's a hole and his brain is smaller on that side.
We call up the fiance's parents and ask them about the brain surgery, which we figure must have happened when he was younger since he has no recollection of it and you have to be awake during the procedure. Turns out that they've never heard of him getting a surgery ever. So now we're all super confused and worried.
This morning I have to make calls to doctors, lawyers, parents, you name it. But yeah, surprise! He has permanent brain damage now and forever! It's so strange and unexpected. I don't even know where to start.

@Morhighan : that's strange indeed! and scary!
I've heard of people got their kidney stolen in illegal surgeries, but this is the first time I've heard anyone got a mysterious brains surgery without consent. I'm sorry I couldn't help you in this matter, but I'm hoping the best for you and your fiancee...

I'm sure most people don't have to guess what's on our mind right now. So, in order to not actually delve into it, let me just say this: Let's keep our compassion and humanity no matter what happens, no matter what it seems like other people might be thinking. Who knows, this could end up being decently uneventful.
