State holiday

#1 Post by teankun »

This mainly goes out to those who live in the United States.
While most people know about national holidays, what about local state holidays?

Here in Utah, we have Pioneer Day (a.k.a Days of '47) on July 24. It is to commemorate the arrival of the first settlers in 1847. More than just a local celebration, this is an actual official holidays with state services and some businesses closed and other businesses giving holiday pay.

So, what about your state?

I thought it was the 3rd, but I know it ranks up there.
