Ask questions about one topic per thread, and use a descriptive subject. "NotImplemented error in script.rpy" is a good subject, "Tom's problems" is not. Remember to include all of traceback.txt or error.txt when reporting a problem, as well as the relevant lines of script. Use the [code] tag to format scripts.

Someone please help me figure this out. I downloaded ren'py6.13.11.1715, and began to follow a walkthrough on how to use it. Every thing was fine until I reached the edit script part. My main problem is whenever I click on edit script it says error no editor has been selected. So i go to options , and it said that jeditor is the editor. I then proceeded to click on the link that appears when I click on jeditor in the options column. I saw that I could download other editors so I decided to download scite. Now the other problem is I don't know how to make scite my editor. After my scite download I tried to go back to options to see if I could change my editor to scite , but it was not an option. Thank you in advance for you'r help on this matter.

The default editor requires Java

Have you installed Java? If so, then the problem may be directory.
When I was using Japanese windows XP and put the Ren'py folder on the "desktop", the launcher couldn't recognize editors. It worked when I put the folder directly under C: or D: though.

I apoligize for my lack of knowledge in this area. I do not know how you put the folder directly under. If someone could tell me I would be grateful. Thank you again for all who have helped me. Your help is greatly appreciated.

This problem has been solved. Thank you all for your ideas on what I could have been doing wrong.
