You are here.

Re: Minimalist storytelling: A Dark Room
I finally have a cart! I keep wondering whether I'll die if I don't stoke the fire as soon as I can D:
EDIT: Now I can't stop playing T_T This feels like my favorite RPG for PC games that I love to play. I'm guessing this will take me a LOT of time to play before I get tired of it ((:

I've been playing this game since I saw the review on JayIsGames. I've been enjoying it. It's a curious game, especially in regards to the story. Very much a case of less is more.

He-he, the imagination always beats all the graphical effects...))

Re: Minimalist storytelling: A Dark Room
I overslept (meant to just take a nap, actually) and woke up with 50,000 wood. I played for a few hours and explored the entire map and stuff...
Well, that was fun while it lasted, but it kinda, uh, ended abruptly after that starship thingy...
Speaking of imaginative play, at first I thought it was some sort of tribal "half nekkid villagers" type of setting.

I've stoked fires a couple times but aside from "the stranger shivers & mumbles quietly", nothing's happening..? Am I doing something wrong? o__o;

Wait. After a few moments, she will get warmer, and then the story will continue. Also, your wood should be running low soon, unlocking a new location. You should visit that location.

Re: Minimalist storytelling: A Dark Room
My character dies once in RPG section. He revives but after that I can't use any weapon anymore (even after making it several more).

You need to equip it again don't forget bringing it along on your next journey.

Yeah, that was a fun time playing the game. I really liked the roguelike aspect of it and the mechanics that kept being added a piece a time making it easier to grasp everything in the game. Pretty awesome stuff.

Re: Minimalist storytelling: A Dark Room
The game has a few hurdles that are quite hard to overcome (sulfur mine, anyone?), but that makes achieving progress even more satisfying. Plus, even though there wasn't even a line of exposition anywhere, I still felt I knew the world this is set in inside out in the end. A great example of show not tell, and with nothing but words.

Re: Minimalist storytelling: A Dark Room
That's the problem. I can't equip it. There is no such option, it disappears. I can equip it just fine before my character died (I equip twice, the first time is for bone spear and the second time is for iron sword).Taleweaver wrote:You need to equip it again don't forget bringing it along on your next journey.

Re: Minimalist storytelling: A Dark Room
That's strange. I've never had this issue. And you're sure you've had Builder make you a new weapon before trying to equip it? Because you lose all your carried weapons upon death.
