Looking to contribute some music

#1 Post by GraMana »

Hey all, I'm sort of a composer that may help you out with musical needs for your projects. Due to my schedule and work habits, I doubt I can supply full soundtracks for your projects, but I can probably do a few pieces to fill in the gaps here and there ;). I'm may also to do a number of "generic" pieces that you can use as a free resource in your projects, but that will probably be a challenge.

The files are available via these two links:

http://savefile.com/projects/808585839

http://www.esnips.com/web/donmesupy-Music (some people claim to have gotten malaware warnings from this site, so be forewarned)

Four pieces as of 2007.12.29

Hmm... Well, if you don't have the time to make big stuff, then I have two very small but important requests.

Here's a short description of the project.
Genre: Sci-fi mecha/ecchi romantic comedy cross over kinetic novel with gameplay elements
Synopsis: Three girls travel the stars in the name of love, justice, and a little money on the side.

What I need is a 8 second long eye catcher melody.
Eye catchers are what you see halfway through animes after the advertisement break.
A few example of eye catchers in anime... (NOTICE, some of these are VERY, VERY old... I've got to work with what I find, huh? XD)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jT5_hpzykMA

The above videos are just examples and the actual song you make should sound a little bit more modern... ^_^;;; There's going to be alot of action in the story, so I'm looking for something that sounds heroic, epic, high-energy, and exciting. A tune that's really memorable that people will be able to recognize.

Also, can I have a 15 second long sponsor screen melody? This is what you hear directly after the OP of anime anime where a narrator woman says, "This anime is brought to you by ----. We thank ---- for their support."

You're allowed more leeway in the sponsor screen. ^_^;; Just about anything you would expect in a sponsor screen for an action-oriented anime...

Sorry my requests sound so bizzare... It's because I'm making my project in the style of an anime. :3 Okay, thanks! If you need anything else, leave a post. ^_^

Whoops, sorry about that. Try this - http://www.esnips.com/web/donmesupy-Music - both files should be listed under there.

Interesting request, but I think I can help you out there. Expect a PM with the link to the files when I get done.

EDIT: Sent the goods - check your inbox.

It seems both track fit nearly perfectly for my soon-to-be-finished project, I am asking you permission to use/trim them and what to put in the credit page, thank you.

Just credit me using this user name ("GraMana") and it should be fine. For future references, you don't have to ask for permission, just credit me if you want to use the stuff I post here.

Added two new pieces. I'll try to do bi-weekly updates if I can keep up this level of output.

For some reason NOD32 gave me a virus alert when I tried to download one of your files. It's probably nothing.

I got the same thing - it was one of the flash files in the advert rotation.

Hmm, I'm not sure what to say. Maybe I should use a different service to host my files?

Ah. Some good websites you can try out are:

http://www.rapidshare.com (Files deleted after a number of days without download)
http://www.willhostforfood.com/
http://www.megaupload.com
http://www.filefront.com/

I suggest filefront. They're fast, and reliable. You need to make an account to host, but it's free.

I had some problems with the site you chose, it keeps giving me advices to run some weird program to protect my pc(which usually means spyware or worse, right?) and then closes my browserO_O
I'd suggest savefile.com, it has advertisements but other than that I like how it tells you how many times your files are downloaded and how you can divide your stuff in projects.

It's too bad that site's giving you guys such problems - I really liked it's organizational layout :(. Anyways, after looking through the alternatives, I decided to go with savefile, since you can organize your files into projects. I'll still keep the other site updated as a catalogue for myself, so this will be a mirror of sorts I guess:

Ok, so I guess I sorta lied about the bi-weekly updates :(. Maybe monthly updates are a more realistic goal, but anyways I haven't had the time to work on much originals these last two weeks. I don't want to double post too much, so I'll only bump for an update if it slips into page 2 (and rely on the edit button the rest of the time). By the way, I'm still quite open to helping out with specific requests - I find that I can usually take care of those faster than thinking up general scenarios and making stuff from them. So yeah, PM away :).
