Re: Elven Relations 2: Mermaid Liaisons
Yes, I love how SunKitten's clearly kept the same character design, but made the same characters look a couple of years older
Tohko's story is being very interesting to write, because there are three different ways you can start off: Tohko with Kei, Tohko with Takuya, or neither. There are going to be an awful lot of different outcomes, one way or another.
Hirana is indeed an elf, and a delightful one. Kei is also being a lot of fun to write: it's fun having a protagonist with a bit more personality than Takuya... and Takuya is also developing more personality himself now that he's an NPC.
I'm somewhat kicking myself for the amount of branching I've introduced. The total number of choices per chapter, and over the story as a whole, will be pretty similar to Elven Relations; and the main plot is fairly consistent between playthroughs, with a couple of significant variations; but certain differences arise from a 6-fold branch in Chapter 2, and the 8-fold branch in Chapter 1 that I've already told you about; and there'll be a similar 6-fold branch in Chapter 3... This is rather slowing down my progress through the early chapters :-S
However, I'm glad to say I've finally pushed myself through a bit of writer's block that I had for a week, where I couldn't figure out how a particular conversation could plausibly get where I needed it to get, particularly with Kei's interference That one had me stuck for about a week, during which all I really got done was filling in a couple of "TODO" sections I'd left in earlier scenes. But I'm past it now.
I'm now going on holiday for a week, but should have plenty of little chunks of time to keep scriptwriting during that time away!

I released 3 VNs, many moons ago: Elven Relations (IntRenAiMo 2007), When I Rule The World (NaNoRenO 2005), and Cloud Fairy (the Cute Light & Fluffy Project, 2009).
More recently I designed the board game Steam Works (published in 2015), available from a local gaming store near you!

So far, I'm leaning towards Hirana here, unless, of course, one of the mermaids happens to be flat chested. =3

Re: Elven Relations 2: Mermaid Liaisons
Wow, it's been a long time since I posted on this thread :-S
Partly that's because, having been writing script more or less every day for more than two months, I felt like I needed a break, so I've had a few weeks off. But I'm back onto writing Chapter 3 as of a couple of days ago, and it's great to be back. Having now finished the scene that I've effectively been in the middle of for over a month ^^;;;, I'm hoping to make good progress through the rest of this chapter.
SunKitten's also been taking a little time off ER2 graphics to write more of her current webcomic, Ambient Rhythm, but has started again, with some beautiful event CGs. Oh, I'm so looking forward to showing you all this game! ^.^ (I just need to keep myself writing, to make the other 55% of the script...)
I promised some preview art every month, and then I was rather late posting the May preview. Sorry. But I hope the mermaid art attached makes up for the delay
Next month: an event CG preview!

Re: Elven Relations 2: Mermaid Liaisons
Well, not quite what I expected. I see that you went for the Pocahontas look.
Even with Tohko upgrading, I think I still favor Hirana the most. I just hope she doesn't reject me as many times Tohko did in the original game.

Re: Elven Relations 2: Mermaid Liaisons
...Okay. Tohko? Hirana? You're outta here. I want the mermaids! Both of them, if that can be arranged.
(Failing that, the one on the right. RAWR.)

Oh, I can't wait for this game! And I agree, the mermaids are the best.

Re: Elven Relations 2: Mermaid Liaisons
They will look older because it is the sequel for Elven Relations. How many years after the first game is Mermaid Liasons? I like Hirana here....

I believe what teankun means is that the character from ER1 is look older than ER2 (which is impossible according to the timeframe). I think it's all because a change in artistic style of the artist. Not in purpose.icerain wrote:They will look older because it is the sequel for Elven Relations. How many years after the first game is Mermaid Liasons? I like Hirana here....

Re: Elven Relations 2: Mermaid Liaisons
Hmm, I guess it's subjective who looks older. To me, the newer characters definitely look older - the ER1 characters all look really young now that I'm used to the ER2 art
It's June! A new month means new art. But I gave you some preview art just a week or so ago. Hmm, what to do? To compromise, I'll give you pics that are mostly ones you've seen before, but at a higher res (and I think the Tohko pic is new here too). I have these because I actually made myself a Mermaid Liaisons T-shirt Principally to inspire me as I'm writing (If anyone else wants, then (once mine's arrived and I've been able to check it's OK) I could try to make the link available for others.)
The canny amongst you may spot a hint as to the mermaids' names ^^
