What Ramidel said.
Also, played through the alternate endings, and...
I love HOW Yurika is affectionate. Not so much that she is as HOW.

She's sun and rain: She's fire and ice. A little crazy, but it's nice.

Yeah, me too.
Yurika's absolutely the sweetest of the three girls; she can show that she loves you without either snuggling up to you all the time or setting your hair on fire.
Showing you the sunrise and telling you about her dreams of the sea, now that's romantic.

Re: Elven Relations 2: Mermaid Liaisons
Hee. It's progressing. Slowly.
I'm writing chapter 5 of 6, although I'm still writing the assorted different branches of the same extended scene I was writing three months ago. I just decided that Chapter 4 was getting too long* and Chapter 6 didn't have enough in it, so I've shuffled stuff forward a bit.
I'm doing two things in parallel: writing the script to Chapter 5, on my PDA in Ren'Py script that's never seen a copy of Ren'Py, in random chunks of 10 minutes wherever I happen to be; and debugging/editing/"directing" the script to Chapter 2, in an actual Ren'Py installation on my home computer. By "directing" I mean getting the right characters on screen with the right expressions: in my first iteration I'll include most expression changes, but when playing it through I'll discover some expressions stay set for too long, or some character appears in front of another, or bugs like that that I need to fix.
I'm definitelydefinitely planning to have it released by May, because June is when my life is scheduled to get turned upside down
*: When I say "I decided", I mean "my PDA's text editor complained I'd filled its buffer", which may be at 64kb.

I released 3 VNs, many moons ago: Elven Relations (IntRenAiMo 2007), When I Rule The World (NaNoRenO 2005), and Cloud Fairy (the Cute Light & Fluffy Project, 2009).

Re: Elven Relations 2: Mermaid Liaisons
Is this going to be the first Ren'Py game that takes advantage of the sequel feature (persitant data from one game to another?)
I enjoyed the first version of this game and am curious to see how you approach the sequel. Good luck!

Re: Elven Relations 2: Mermaid Liaisons
Hmm. It may be. I'm not aware of any others. There haven't been many sequels to Ren'Py games released at all, as far as I know. There was the Wandering Child trilogy a few years back, but TTBOMK they didn't have any persistence from one to the next.usul wrote:Is this going to be the first Ren'Py game that takes advantage of the sequel feature (persitant data from one game to another?)
BTW, as per PyTom's stated preferences during the forum reshuffle, I've moved to broadly using my blog rather than this thread as the place to post updates on the game, or ramblings related to the game. They'll be at http://alextfish.livejournal.com/tag/mermaid%20liaisons , or you can see them on Planet EVN. They're still not very frequent though
(This is partly because the times when I can be writing blog posts are roughly the same times when I can be writing VN script, and I'd generally rather be writing script than writing about writing script )
