Hello everyone.

Is there any some VN games has no music? (Except sound effects)
Name of the games for example.
For me, in my game soon in beta will be no music, so is it okay?
(I have some of my friends will test the game sooner though, looks very uncompete with no music.)

(Sooner, i can add some music in my VN, but beta, none.)

So thanks for everyone who wilk answer this topic.
S.r.y. bad english.

Tally Ho! by Kreg Segall does not contain music, sound effects, nor images. I consider it my Game of the Year because of its quality writing and huge range of choice in the game. However, you can argue that it is an IF game, rather than an VN.

IF is short for Interactive Fiction, they are often text adventure style games, some also had images. You would interact in the game by typing commands like “talk to Bob” or “Get lamp” or “give jewel to pirate”. You also type to move between locations, e.g. “go north” or “go to the library”. Some simpler ones use multiple choice instead of typing. Some people still make them and even include animations/videos.

They can be fun if you like figuring out what you are supposed to do and unlocking secrets. They can akso be extremely frustrating if you cant figure out what you need to do to make the story progress.

btw, there is plenty of free music out there, do you want links to some sites?

I wrote one a while back: [text] - A Summer Story is designed not to have music, but there are sound effects.

Typically, I think music can help add depth to a story, but it's just another tool that you can choose to use or not use.
