so in this VN I'm working on, there is a scene where a character sings an entire song as sort of a solemn peaceful moment. There's no voice acting but the lyrics will be on the screen as average dialogue text and I plan on playing the tune on my guitar.

Now would it be jank if i were have the player click through it verse by verse or should I just have it play automatically? Additionally should I make it unskippable or should i just let the player have the ability to skip the whole thing accidents be damned..?

If any other visual novel did anything similar to this, I'd love to know so i can use it as reference material.

Not technically a visual novel, but Trails in the Sky has dialogue boxes and no voice acting, and they had the singing segment play automatically:

I think it worked well, though the song is like 75 seconds long -- much longer than that, and I imagine it might- feel tedious if it's unskippable ^^;
