Re: The Powah of Scalar Pendants!
If they're marketing it as quantum physics, you know it's fake. Quantum physics have no scientific basis whatsoever, it's pure speculation. Are you for real? Quantum physics is very real and already being used . The working of transistor radios, atomic clocks, and lasers, among other things, depend...

Re: Setting list variable with screen language
Also, are lists synonymous with dictionaries? I can't seem to get "ToggleDict" to work with a list. No * 9^9(9). See http://diveintopython.org/getting_to_know_python/dictionaries.html and http://diveintopython.org/native_data_types/lists.html . Alternatively, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...

Re: Do you add copy-protection to your game, and if yes how?
It's just strange. In my personal and particular case, I used to get "free" games on the internet, until I began to work and earn my own salary, that I spent into buying games I wouldn't even have thought of buying until then. It's not even a question of morality, it's just that because I...

Heh, wouldn't the old archive inside an image file trick work? http://www.asktheadmin.com/2009/05/hide-a-rar-archive-inside-a-jpg-image.html btw, that is not only for rars. zip and 7za are some of the others. However, if you're going to go that way, better to use TrueCrypt. It's both more secure an...

Re: After creating menus how do I "rejoin" the choices?
menu flag 'menu flag' is NOT a variable name -- variable names cannot contain spaces. Your script should crash on those lines where you attempt to assign to 'menu flag' or check it's value. Same goes for 'menu flag2'. You need to fix your variable names to be valid Python before you expect your scr...

I'd like to note that on Firefox 5, the ChangeLog page glitches (Really quite oddly.). However, the page appears normal in Dillo, Elinks, and Chrome, so I chalk it up to a bug in Firefox. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/neota/zasni/Glitchyglitchglitch.png Yeah -- like that. each version's stu...

Re: drawing for beginners - resources?
I personally recommend The Practice and Science of Drawing by Harold Speed (public domain, downloadable from Project Gutenberg). Nicolaides also seems excellent -- and far more hands on, which is important. I think he doesn't really focus on doing things 'blind', rather the converse: Time you spend ...

Great, SCALE_FAST fix appears to work for me. Which reveals another weirdness... when the screen is scaled UP (scale factor >1), text is not scaled but rather rendered at the scaled size. Overall effect: The text and image both look 'wrong' (they don't match in resolution). If you care about that ca...

Re: Question About Videos
Does OP mean OPening credits? There's a few opensource video studio suites, like Cinelerra and kdenlive, which seem very capable. Avidemux is useful for more modest work (just some simple crossfades, dubbing etc). I haven't tried openshot, openmovieeditor, auteur, freej, lives, lombard, vivia or pit...

Re: Putting character images in the window when they speak..
If you are going to reference anything in the script, you'd better be sure it's defined beforehand. Just because the 'normal' definition comes first doesn't mean it's executed first. Things that must be executed first go in init blocks. However, in this situation, that's not necessary (since you are...

MyPaint . That's really it for drawing. (I use GIMP for editing and finishing, MyPaint for everything else (inc touchups). It's fun, straightforward and powerful, so I find it pretty compelling.) Also I just noticed: your avatar is HUGE. I mean the actual image, not it's displayed dimensions. I fou...

1. English (better than almost all people I meet); I gather it's with a mild Australian accent. 2. Python -- yeah, I had to put this here for comparison purposes. I'm getting towards mastering it. I've spent a lot of effort on learning various programming languages (I should also mention C), which w...
