Re: Showing a screen within a screen?

So it works with some imagemaps but not others. What is the difference between the times when it works and the times it doesn’t? Is there difference in your screen code or how you show/call the screens? If you are getting different results, then something different is in the code. Try to isolate tha...

Re: Showing a screen within a screen?

Just give the screens with the money/variables, etc. a higher zorder, it will make it show up above screens with a lower zorder:

Re: Multiple choices but a bit unconventional

Rather than True/False, just use numbers. When they pick something with A, then a_points go up by one, if they pick something with B, then b_points go up by one. If they pick something with C, then c_points go up by one. If A, B, and C are the same? then if that fourth choice. And so on.

Re: Live Composite help!

You may want to use the new code: layered Images.

https://patreon.renpy.org/layeredimage-conversion.html

Also remember to declare any variable you are using with default outside of any label.

Re: Dumb but: how do I test my loooong game?

Well, you game has to be written with labels, so tve labels have to be there. I made a flow chart of every single choice and how they impacted each variable, so I had a list of every single variable combination and where they would sit on the flowchart. So if I wanted to test someone visiting the fo...

Re: Dumb but: how do I test my loooong game?

You can also just set your variables how you want in the developer console and then jump to which ever label you want.

Re: "slow_done" callback not firing for lipflap

You could use the config.speaking_attribute to do this more easily.

Re: AttributeError: 'bool' object has no attribute 'hp'

It looks like you have somehow defined valenzia and pc as True/False (in other words a boolean). It is really hard to say without seeing your code. But. Do you uses pc or valenzia more than once to define more than one thing? And is one of those things a True/False? valenzia and pc seems to be insta...

Re: How to use ScreenVariableValue to pass a value back?

You have two different things with the same name. A storage object "allocation" and a screen "allocation"--don't have two different things with the same name. You should be declaring your variables with default or define outside of blocks, so: default allocation = Storage() You also shouldn't need t...

Re: Saving games, classes, and constants. How to use init in the right way?

1) All variables should be initialized outside of any block using either default if that variable might change, or define if it won't. This will fix the problem you are asking about. 2) rather than random.choice, that code should be renpy.random.choice So try this code (I'm assuming hair color won't...

Re: Release style of Ren'Py vs. Debian (Linux), differences?

Metalla, every time that I click the update button, I’m brought to the screen to choose which of those two channels I want to use. So nothing happens automatically, I have to choose each time.

Re: Release style of Ren'Py vs. Debian (Linux), differences?

Where is some of this information listed? If you are in the Renpy launcher and click update, it will take you to a screen with the update channels...which have an explanation of them. I'm looking at the list right now and it says: Release. March 16, 2019. 7.2.1.457. Recommended. The version of Ren'P...
