Re: Artist looking for Illustrator display tablet ?
I love Cintiq... but IMO 1st generation Cintiq is not worth it anymore. Sure, you get high build quality, nice display and colors, and good batteryless pen. But overall, other brands are catching up. If you must get a Cintiq, go for Cintiq Pro line... For Cintiq 22 price range, you can get Cintiq Pr...

Re: DDLC is blamed for teenager suicide
They are not directly blaming... more like implying? IDK the words. Notice that they repeatedly say "the graphics is for aimed for children", "should the age rating set higher", etc. Implying that something should have or could have been done. But only the BBC though, the rest of...

DDLC is blamed for teenager suicide
I know this is not about Japan... it's about UK to be exact. A visual novel take over the world attention by storm, Doki Doki Literature Club. This game is clearly not for children and easily disturbed... There's already a warning about that... So who's to blame... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JC...

Re: How often does one person create a full VN by themselves?
Dust: Elysian Tail was programmed, written and drawn by one person, but had music by HyperDuck Soundworks and I believe programming assistance from someone else. Undertale was obviously drawn by Temmie Chang, so it wasn't just Toby Fox. Cave Story however was entirely by Pixel, but it's rarer than ...

Re: How often does one person create a full VN by themselves?
If you asked how often... well, does it really matter? The question is: is it possible? And yes, it's very possible. Including the high quality one. Next thing you need to clarify is, what do you mean by "a full VN by themselves"? If one outsourcing some of the assets (like using free roya...

Re: What is a software that can allow me to create art like
To draw those, you can use any kind of digital drawing software... to make arts like that, it's more to artist skill rather than the software. You can use photoshop, GIMP, SAI, Clip Studio, Medibang... anything... If you want to use those pictures in your game and you need to edit them, you will nee...

Yes, don't let the word count dictates you. If you think your story is enough... then it's enough. Longer doesn't always means better.

Re: What defines a "visual novel" apart from other games?
Whereas I see Visual Novels as a form of Video Game, just as I see Interactive Fiction as being a form of video game. Maybe a KN is a novel presented visually...but I don't see a VN as a novel presented visually...novels are not interactive in the way that VNs are. Of course I only simplifies thing...

Re: What defines a "visual novel" apart from other games?
For me, Visual Novel is a medium... it's not a games... it's a novel presented visually. There are lots of games resembles visual novel... or visual novel with gameplay element... but those are games. For me, VN is VN, video game is a video game... they are just a different medium... just as novel, ...

Re: True endings and their influence on narrative
I don't know if this has been mentioned... but a true (canon) ending does not always happier or better than the not-true-endings... True ending is just if the game has multiple good ending, usually a good ending for every characters, then there is one particular ending that the author considers cano...

Re: Vita Tv or 3DS
One thing... don't buy PS TV (or Vita TV... or whatever you call it), they aren't compatible with all Vita games library... so you'd be better with Vita slim... or fat if you can find one since that thing have OLED display...
