Awesome. Just awesome.
If you think that I'm trolling you're making it far too easy on yourself. And I believe mugen is too dumb to troll.

Re: Ren'Py Shop

Exactly what you and your group did... it is very effective marketing strategy... you used the same strategy to gain notoriety so why can't I or other people do the same... Because it's not true. And I can't stop you from posting on here, but what I CAN do is point out at every opportunity how much...

Re: Ren'Py Shop

Nah... I'd just follow your example and associate myself with 4chan, create a wikipedia article and daily /a/ and /jp/ spam... You WISH anyone would care enough about your shit that people would troll 4chan pretending to be you. And since most people in here don't actively follow 4chan and related ...

Re: Ren'Py Shop

This is part of a plan to (starting in the next month or so) replace the random featured games on renpy.org with a monthly-rotating pair of featured games, one from games.renpy.org and one from shop.renpy.org. Well, at least mugen is going to be delighted to hear that you can buy yourself into feat...

Another feature request. config.tag_implicit_onlayer = {"tag":"layer", ...} Provides a mapping from image tags to layers. Tags in this dictionary will be shown on the named layer by default, unless explicitly stated otherwise in the script. Everything else is shown on the layer "master" by default. ...

Re: Non-english visual novel engines?

Apart from ONS (which is old, annoying and creaky, and only used by geriatric devs that wish these kids would keep off their lawn 7th Expansion) and KiriKiri2 (which is pretty similar to Ren'Py except that it's a DirectX application and its framework language is TJS, which is syntactically almost id...

Re: 6.11 Development

Couple of random ideas regarding the launcher: * add a button to delete all rpyc files from a project. * add a distribution function that concatenates all scripts. It's useful not to include scripts in an rpa for easier later patching, but that can lead to a whole lot of clutter, and simply concaten...

Re: Variables and Menus

Don't use the persistent object and set the default value of the variable directly after the start label. There are fancier ways to do it but you are struggling as it is.

Re: Variables and Menus

If you're doing an unlockable your whole question is beside the point, because that has to be a field on the persistent object and you can always test for those without things breaking. In general though, either initialize them to some value in the init block or test for existence with hasattr(store...

Re: Advertising in your visual novels

I wouldn't waste space on that beyond a link to the web site (and if you want to advertise, you need images at the very least). Unless you're shipping on a CD and have storage to spare, but that would not be valid for the vast majority of people here. If I'm downloading a game and see that a noticea...

Re: again on ATL

ATL blocks run asynchronously from the script and don't cause a display event, so your pause command is useless. You have to pause script execution with a top level "with Pause(2.0)" instead.
