Re: Uncle Mugen's Bedroom Studies
I don't know what it's called in your software but in Gimp it's called Filters>Distorts>iWarp. I've also seen it called something like "make liquid." Anway use this tool with large radius and low effect to sort of humanize the lines a bit. Everything just looks to perfect which gives the r...

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
maybe someone will come up with some advice I like how is eyes sort of mirror the shape of his glasses. Only thing looks off is his inner ear seems a little odd shaped (of course this is silly coming from me who often forgets what ears look like and just draws little random squiggly lines instead).

Re: Who/What influenced your style of drawing?
Jaime Hernandez's ink work in Love and Rockets has been a huge influence on me. More recently Tony Moore's work in The Walking Dead and Ryan Kelly's beautiful brushed ink in Local have been influences. I also look at a lot of photography books. Henri Cartier-Bresson has a very unique way of capturin...

Re: writing a game in 3rd person ?
The style of writing is fine. Actually I'd prefer if more VNs were written like this. My problem is that some of the writing itself is pretty rough. Make sure you get a good editor. LateWhiteRabbit has made some excellent suggestions. You will want someone with that level of skill to go through the ...

Re: Dealing with doubts and lack of motivation
So you want to be an artist. Just go out and do it. I'm a musician also, I've played in plenty of bands and even toured around the states with a band. I never worried about if my band sucked or not. It's not my problem. I'm an artist because I enjoy creating art. That's it, it's not a means to an en...

I know, MyPaint is amazing isn't it. Glad I'm not the only one. Like your drawing by the way, I was just checking out some of your work and I like your style.Chorvaqueen wrote:Yay another GIMP + MyPaint user!

Removing white backgrounds from sprites?
So I've been using Gimp for a long time now and I still haven't found a decent way to remove the white backgrounds from sprites I create. I have a great plugin for converting line art to transparency but it makes everything completley desaturated and areas that are not pure black become translucent....

-double posting :/ - I'm not doing requests yet, trying to get used to illust studio. :) Oh, here's my crappy practice drawing Dx Not crappy at all, nice bright colors and an interesting design. I always enjoy the learning process when using new drawing software. Haven't tried Illustrator Studio yet.

Re: Random OCs- Critique Please!
well, it works as chibis so its fine. Though i suggest you make the necks match the bodies instead of the head's size and make it shorter(its quite long, making it look weird) cause that makes it weird :/ Now, if not. you want normal sprites, then you need to work first of all on your anatomy like ...

Gimp is great for editing. If you want more a natural painting approach MyPaint is a fantastic and very intuitive program. I love Gimp but a lot of the people I recommend it to get frustrated by the steep learning curve.

Hmm. It looks like a rough sketch more than a finished product. His anatomy is pretty off, infact the legs look like they're broken- you should use a reference like this: http://image.shutterstock.com/display_pic_with_logo/743/743,1132023353,2/stock-photo-anatomy-muscle-man-standing-w-clipping-mask...

Need Sprite Art Feedback
I'm working on sprites for Gage's Time stones project. This is my first finished sprite. Any feedback is appreciated. The game will be 600x800 res.
