Re: Research: Attitude towards drugs?

I'm not sure if the OP had euthanasia in mind, but what about when drugs are used to give an animal or human a humane death that's pain free as possible? There are quite a few misconceptions involving euthanasia, and things are a little different in the southern part US unfortunately, but I personal...

Re: Creating a Fictional World

I've always used what I call the ASPIRE method. It was taught to me by an old college professor, mainly for studying historical cultures, but i have found it invaluable for creating cultures as well. It works like this: A - Aesthetics / Art S - Social P - Politics I - Intellectual / Science R - Rel...

Creating a Fictional World

I was wondering how you guys go about creating a world for a VN. I watched an interview where R.A. Salvatore was talking about the process he went through to create the history and cultures of Amalur, and I picked up a few things that I'll hopefully be able to use. Salvatore's method seemed to invol...

Is there a way VNs can be described so that the average person will understand what kind of experience you get out of playing a VN? I hate comparing them to choose-your-adventure books for the reason LateWhiteRabbit said about expectations coming from naming conventions. Back when choose-your-adven...

Re: Reading a VN vs. Playing a VN

I say play because of the restrictions the medium places on the experience and the state of mind that puts me in. I can't read a VN like I'd read a book or a bit of web fiction, I can't control my progress through the story as easily, flip back and forth between favorite bits, etc. I'm progressing ...

I can give it a try. I'm currently taking Japanese in college, so I have a decent understanding of Japanese grammar.

Re: Sleeping inconsistencies

I used to be liek that in high school. Luckily my teachers usually never got too angry at me for taking a little nap. I usually kept a pack of gum or some candy in my pockets. A little sugar helps, and chewing gum helped with keeping me focused.
