Re: How do you avoid "convenient" or "coincidental" plotting
Foreshadowing for sure, but coincidence isn't always a bad thing---or at least if you only make it seem a coincidence. Maybe, in the case of the letter being delivered a specific day, there's a reason for that. Maybe it's all part of something more elaborate than a simple disappearance? You don't a...

Re: Coming up with sprite poses?
-a shy character is more likely not to face the viewer directly, and to pose "defensively" like arms crossed. They might also look down (also works for pessimistic people). -on the other hand, an outgoing character, or one that's very comfortable towards the MC, might lean towards them, o...

Coming up with sprite poses?
Maybe I just overthink it, but do you guys ever just have a hard time coming up with a pose to put your character's in---specifically for their "base" pose? Not considering alternate poses, but in cases where one pose would be constant throughout. I feel like there's got to be a balance be...

Re: Need guide on making choice menu as an image
Do you mean like an imagemap? If you boot up the tutorial game included with Renp'y, you can check that out, and the script for it is under the "demo_ui.rpy" file.
More or less, you're making a clickable image with an action attached to it.

Maybe I glanced over it, but would the sprite artist also be designing said characters based off description? Or is there/will there be pre-existing visual reference? I might be interested in applying, but that does make a big difference for me. :'D

Re: Can a visual novel "without sight" be good
And when I realized I couldn't have art because it would be a jumbled up mess, I created a story where the protagonist is kind of blind, but it doesn't look like a "budget dodge" So from what you say im guessing it depends if i write well...and know how to record sound effects Without vis...

This looks like it's trying to reference fodlers, and the image being called just isn't in them...? Unless I'm sorely mistaken.

Re: Can a visual novel "without sight" be good
I've played some before, but at that point I don't think it's a "visual" novel. It's just a text based game. Like the "Choice of Whatever" games. I must have played that particular one a million times to get all the endings and variants, even. But, yes, absolutely, they can be go...

Re: Romance in a non-romance driven game?
My solution would be, obviously, to not advertise the game as a romance game, and either add somewhere in description that you can romance only one character or don't mention romance at all, letting it be an organic flow of the story Wouldn't dream of advertising it as romance, aha. I really do lik...

Re: Drawing a Menu Screen? How do you do it?
I read this in a book once about drawing character based manga covers, and I think it could very well apply to anything: I like to play with the themes of my book, placing my characters in an environment similar to what they experience in the story---but more elaborate, more dangerous, and more glam...

Re: Romance in a non-romance driven game?
I would say you could make that one couple canon in all routes, just not the main focus. I hadn't thought of this, but the way the game is structured wouldn't allow for it, I don't think. Something to consider though. One thing is for sure, no one has ever said "there is too much romance in my...
