I've noticed the same problem with this font with things that use FreeType for text displaying (ONscripter for example). I'm not sure about Ren'Py, but I'm guessing this is the same or a similar problem. I'm not sure about all the technical stuff about it, but apparently the reason it does this is b...

They essentially are, with the small difference that the NScripter executable is not maintained anymore while the ONscripter executable is in active development ^^. Actually, Nscripter is still being maintained, as far as I know. It was last updated on September of 2006, and the developer's last po...

Actually there is program out there that will convert the GRA files from JAST games into .PI files, which can be viewed in Susie. You can get it at http://www.vector.co.jp/soft/dos/art/se051823.html (it's in Japanese) To use it just stick it in the folder with the GRA files and in the DOS prompt typ...

Well since there's no language specified..... if you can read Japanese, then you can find plenty of them with Google. There's one game from Alicesoft called Shimaima that I guess was at one time a commercial game, but they decided to re-release it free. It's at http://www.alicesoft.com/saboten/downl...

Hey everybody, I don't post much here, but this topic really interested me. Does anyone know what the licences is on AIKO? Is it freely distributable? Just wondering. I'm no expert on this, but if I understand it correctly, I think you can use the rendered images for whatever purpose, but you can't ...

Re: nscripter.insani.org

This looks nice. I've played around with Nscripter for a couple years and it's definitely one of my favorite game engines. Nscripter is a very powerful game engine, but it still runs nicely on my old 200mhz Compaq Presario with Windows 95 (english version, with njwin running). I haven't used ONscrip...

As far as I know, Muto's site has not vanished. Actually, I just checked it now. It hasn't been updated since September of last year though... I don't know if he is still working on YAD-S, but it does appear as though he has popped up recently in another forum somewhere, so it seems as though he is ...

I agree with most everything said. On the matter of decisions and freedom, mainly in the visual-novel type of games, I have a few thoughts that may or may not be coherent... In any game, the feeling of being free to do whatever one wants is generally considered good. However, too much freedom can so...
