Re: Idea for game: Journey to the West as Visual Novel?
Lucifiel: I don't think that the Saiyuki manga were attempting to be faithful to the plot at all. The Saiyuki manga was just "inspired by" the original story; I don't see it as an attempt to actually adapt the story. You need to understand that in East Asia, the story of Journey to the We...

Re: Idea for game: Journey to the West as Visual Novel?
Would be a great idea. It does sound really ambitious, though: meaning it'd take a ton of writers to actually pull it off(for plot, scenario and so on) and it'd take a lot of effort to maintain the psychological aspects. Plus, you've got to think about how to "make the story" understandabl...

Re: RE: Alistair++ - New and extended!
Bah... I'd written a lengthy reply when I realized that there was a second version out. =P The ++ version. I'll definitely try the game again and hopefully, it's better. Tried it... it's quite fun, actually and the convos come off as quite natural. Art is quite sleek and cool. One thing to note, tho...

Re: Date Warp (GxB, commercial - discount details)
Hmmm... nice game so far. =P There's a typo, btw... in the demo. Not sure if it's in the full game but the part(before that rich owner appears) where bradley says "No, we're not staying long. We should stay ready to go." It ought to be "get ready to go". That's not what he means...

Re: al|together 2006 games
Fortunately, some guy uploaded it before original links become broken. Here's the link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=K170IC5F :) Thanks a lot... now if only I could figure out how to get the 3rd ending. -__-;; I already played through the darn thing 4 to 5 times in a row. >>;; And I just don't have...

Re: al|together 2006 games
Ohkay... I know I shouldn't resurrect a dead thread but does anyone have the Japanese version of "Midsummer haze". All the links: links provided in Insani's patch, the author's site, etc, etc., are all down.

Re: Embarrassing question... regarding plots
@J. Datie: Apart from "nearly-blind boy meets girl, things happen"... everything is kinda different. Circumstances, story world(in 1 version: there is war, in the other version, there is peace), etc. , etc. Ah well... if it all gets too complicated, I'll simply strip away everything and pu...

Embarrassing question... regarding plots
So, I wanted to try writing a VN. (No, I'll get to the "learning how to write a game" part later on.) See, this is where things get confusing... I'd wanted to write a short story but then, the plot outline morphed into 2 distinct versions: 1 is not so fleshed out, the other 1 is more so. N...

Re: NaNoRenO 2009: Daemonophilia
Cool game, almost done with it. :) I like the music, many of the jokes and the characters. :) Though, I wonder if it could've done without the canned laughter.. hmm, perhaps yes, perhaps not. I got: Normal Ending(3), Bad ending 2, Bad ending 1, Evil Ending (4). I just wanted to try and get all the o...

Re: Moonlight Walks 2.0 Released
I finished this a couple of days ago. I really liked how parts of the mystery and the secrets enfolded. And even how the girl's youthful appearance played very cleverly into the mystery. Also, liked the art and the various historical details. Only thing was: it was strange how the protagonist tended...
