Re: Are you a Weeaboo?

This is more of a social phenomenon and psychological condition as a result of exposure to overseas popular culture. Obsession of course, is not limited to animations or visual novels from Japan. The term probably evolved from our natural need to classify and identify things which we do not understa...

To be honest, I am from outer space. That would make this forum galactic in scope. *nods*

Please keep this a secret.

Re: The unimportance of art

Madness! From Egyptian hieroglyphs to ancient pictographs, art existed as a form of communication years before the written word. Subconsciously we are drawn to visual stimuli and it is no different for visual novels. What was that? I missed the point completely? *reads the rest of the thread* Ahem. ...

Re: PLEASE SUPPORT AN INNOCENT ANIMAL

Yes, how they killed the donkey was cruel. Note that the people were not clapping or cheering while it was happening. I believe the neighbourhood had a genuine belief that the dog and the donkey were a cause for concern. India has a high rate of human rabies and that fear combined with the prevalenc...

Re: What is "Commercial"?

I have no issues with the opening post. What I have noticed though is that this publisher seems to consistently draw negative feedback from certain elements in the community even though they have presented themselves with a fair degree of courtesy. First and foremost, creators should understand that...

Re: different art styles on same game

I'm not sure about this. For this game ok, but in general I don't like to put too many constraints to artists :? Animation studios in Japan are constantly forced to adapt to a particular style, especially if the series is adapted from a particular manga artist. Some notable examples are One Piece a...

Re: Whatever you do - GET THAT DAMN GUI RIGHT! *_*

I would argue that user interface design does not come naturally at all. It is a struggle to find a balance between aesthetic pleasure, elements of design and practicality while working within the limits of what the programmers are willing to do. Some creators are content as long as the user interfa...

Re: Needs CG Artist!

Hi. Could you give me a description of one CG that you have in mind? As descriptive as possible, please. I'll see if I can draft up something with just line art and then you can tell me if it is good enough for what you're looking for. :]

Re: Art Workshop, anyone interested?

First of all, kudos to you for thinking of new ways to improve and/or contribute to the community. My suggestion: One participant picks a photo of reasonable quality as the subject. Everyone then draws/paints the subject on their own time and submits the finished product - whether a scanned copy or ...

Re: Using a free blog site as a portfolio?

Why not? As long as it is easy to access (no registration required), clear of clutter (pointless animations) and neatly presented (forget the popup windows). While each employer may be different, they are ultimately more interested in your actual work than where your online portfolio is being hosted...

Re: artist question[me no likey]

There is nothing wrong with you. I'm am willing to bet that artists from all fields have felt that way at one point or another. It is not strange or unusual. People are naturally inspired by art; there is bound to be an influence based on a particular style or method. It is just a part of learning. ...

Re: What is with the lack of interest in BxB games ;=;?

I think we just want to share our ideas. The young and those young at heart seem to have the most ideas, but because so many other ideas are waiting to be explored it is easy to forget and move on. There is a lot one can learn from this forum and other creative forums in general. I feel the hardest ...
