Hmm, I never thought of putting it in different channels. I'll check up on that. My original goal is to have it playing alongside the music.
I'll try the other solution a try too.
Thanks!

Re: What's the way to put odd symbols in dialogue (ie %)?
Put in a backslash before the symbol.
For example:
It's been working that way for me for symbols I use by typing the shift+number, but I'm not sure it will work for special characters (because I haven't tried).
For example:
Code: Select all

Looping Sound
Hi there, Is there any way to loop sound while there is music playing in the background? My sound file is a three second audio and it is intended to loop as an annoying sound until the MC notices and remarks upon it. I know music loops but sound doesn't. I know I could use the persistent sound as mu...

Skip function tends to stall
I have been running the game and for some reason, the skip function tends to stall. It would work then it would stop in the middle of running then it would not work anymore no matter how many times I would click on the Skip button. What could be causing this and how I can resolve this. * This also h...

Chapter Titles
Hi everyone,
I'm sorry if this is a repeat topic or if this is already in the Ren'py site documentations. It's just quite hard when doing searches for it.
Can anyone tell me how to put titles on chapters in the games? It just makes tracking easier.
Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Re: "True" endings
Are you talking about a true ending when there are options for multiple pairing or true ending when there is only one pairing? Yes, I'm talking about a renai game because those are the only type of VNs I play. I think, if there is only one pair and there are endings ranging from bad to good to true ...

Re: dynamic character?
$ q = renpy.input("My name is...?") or "Default Name" This code I gave in my original reply accomplishes the same feat, or so it seems. Or is there something I didn't notice that yours does that mine didn't? It just didn't work with me. I couldn't run the game because I keep getting errors when I u...

Re: Age Ratings for Games
I use fictionratings.com standards. I don't know how long it's been around I'm not sure how much street cred this thing has, but a lot of livejournal-based fan fiction writers I read use this standard.

Re: dynamic character?
I couldn't work the code in the documentation. Looking through the forum before, this is the one I like to use the best because it has an option to put in a default name if the player doesn't give one. (Sorry to the person who supplied this code in the original thread, but I can't find the thread.) ...

Re: How do you decide what fonts to use in your VN?
1960s http://www.identifont.com/samples/jukebox/Hooligan.gif I like this font! What is it and where can I download it? I do agree a sans serif style is ideal because it's clean and can be easily read over fancier types when you're using a small size, but it feels kind off generic and sterile. I pre...

Re: Runtime error
Well the beta version cleared that right up, but if I wanted to release this game to an unsuspecting public, what would happen? Yeah, it works fine for me too. I still have ways to go with my game, so I'm likely to reach the point where the stable version of 6.13.8 is released. But if the unlikely ...

Re: Runtime error
Hey, I encountered this exact problem just now too! This has never happened in the whole month I've been using it. It happened when I'm running my game and this would pop-out randomly and Windows would asked me if I want to close the program. I thought it could have been rectified by restarting, but...

Change of scenery with no dialogue
I'm very new to using Ren'py and making games in general, so everything I'm doing is pretty basic so far. Just to give you a background. I have a problem with transition the story. One part of the story goes from from bedroom (with dialogue) -> nighttime (no dialogue) -> daytime (no dialogue) -> cla...
