Re: The Cute, Light, and Fluffy Project

I'm not dead, really! Wow, we're actually done! (Note for the future, never let me organize anything like this again...) Thanks for all the good comments on my story, and the bad comments as well. Now I know what not to do next time. And now for my own comments. Cuter than Fiction: Pretty enjoyable....

Installing frameworks

I was wanting to play around with the DSE found here: http://renpy.org/wiki/renpy/Frameworks My problem now is, I have the .zip, but I've found nothing on the wiki stating where to put it and how to make it show up in the "templates" menu when making a new game. Odds are I'm overlooking so...

Re: The Cute, light and fluffy project!

-Signed And yeah, my project is up there maybe 5 or 6 posts above the dotted line. As for the backlash on my 'decision' about Crono's project, I'll admit I forgot about Coatl's project and to be fair I did ask for a vote on Crono's. EDIT: Sent Coatl a message. Hoping he sees it in the next 24 hours....

I apologize again for my lousy organizational skills and the mess it's made so far. Thank you, Samu-kunsama.
Anyone want to drop commentaries in favor of a speedy release?

Re: The Cute, light and fluffy project!

As I said earlier, I'm going to be setting up my old computer again to transfer files to the new one, so we're waiting a bit on a menu from me. Our editor and coder, MegamanZ has dropped off the face of the earth, so we'll be needing a new one of those to help finish this. Once we find a new editor,...

Re: The Cute, light and fluffy project!

Just a note, I might be a bit slow in working on my parts of the project. I have a shiny new computer which has none of my files on it, so in the next few days I will be moving and reorganizing things including all my Ren'Py stuff. I'll get something done before the end of the month.

 Dang that's good! I imagine you'll have writers coming out of the woodwork after your art.

Re: The Cute, light and fluffy project!

I'm not really involved with the project but I was bored and decided to mess around with your PSD a little. I liked miguen's GUI and yours is a good first draft. To make it less plain, I recommend adding at least one cute image (like mugen's) and PyTom's right about the layout. I can see the symmet...

Re: The Cute, light and fluffy project!

To be honest, I find that to be a bit too plain. I'm not particularly fond of the button layout, nor the chosen font, nor the underlining...I do like the background, though; it's cute. Okay, so how exactly could the layout be made better? Where would you put the buttons? MENU-LAYERED-2.zip Here's t...

Re: The Cute, light and fluffy project!

Okay. Updated to comply with suggestions...

-Took the background's brightness down a few notches
-Made the text on the buttons darker
-Changed the font to something more readable
-Added a 'quit' button

Re: The Cute, light and fluffy project!

Behold... Progress!

Here's a mockup of a simple main menu I did. I can put together the submenus a bit later.

Re: The Cute, light and fluffy project!

Compiling I imagine would take some time, and I think it'd be difficult if you don't have a GUI to tie it all together. As for GUI, I've been drawing up something a tad less weaboo. The graphics for that should be done in the near future. As for the commentary page, I haven't heard a single dissenti...

Re: Need artists.

I might actually do some stuff for this project. Is there any particular ways you'd want these characters depicted? Describe what best would fit your mental image of them in terms of both appearance and personality. Personality goes a long way in character art.

Re: SunRider

No more delicious pettan? Yes, it really is a shame.
That aside, glad to hear things are starting to turn for the better for the VN. If this goes well, maybe you could throw in some supplemental stories in the light novel format after the release.

Re: The Cute, light and fluffy project!

No definite deadline yet for the layout. It'll likely go through a process of several revisions before presented as a final piece. There will also be submenus for the Story Select and About options. Possibly the credits as well depending on how we want to set that up.

edit: 100GET! Woohoo.
