Re: Voice Actress wanted for quick job (Paid)

Darnit. I was a fan of HellBounders so I would love to give this a go. Unfortunately, I am not confident in putting on a sexy type of voice. Darn. Wow, thanks! Maybe we can work together in the future sometime. I'm still hoping to continue work on HellBounders at some point, among other stuff. Just...

Voice Actress wanted for quick job (Paid)

Hi there! I'm currently working on a little indie puzzle game, and I'm looking for a talented VA to record a couple of clips. There's no publicly available version yet, but to give you some idea what I'm talking about, it's kind of an update of the old '90s game Gem'X . It may feature some suggestiv...

That's a whole lot of content you've got planned out there. Look forward to seeing your take on the stories and how they turn out. Good luck with NaNo '13!

Re: What type of gameplay do you enjoy?

Be careful trying to throw in too many extra elements on such a tight deadline. Even getting the VN elements done to a reasonable standard will take a surprising amount of that month up before you know it. I'd say adding fps or rpg gameplay to that is setting yourself up for a disaster unless you ke...

Re: NanoReno - 2013

Okay, I'm in. I just dusted off my old vn engine to fix a bug that was messing things up in GM Studio, then I stumble back on here to see what's been happening only to find this is days away from starting. Seems as good a sign as any I need to get my butt in gear and make something :p I've got a few...

Re: What is your religion?

Lapsed Catholic here. Currently I'm nominally Wiccan, but to be honest I'm just not that spiritual a person anymore. These days I just focus on being respectful and helpful to people when I can, try to keep negative aspects and influences out of my life and that does it for me.

Re: Mitsubachi: Medical Fact-checker wanted!

I'm afraid I can't be of much help as it isn't really my area, but just wanted to say I'm really interested in seeing how this turns out. You're doing some very interesting stuff with your theme, and I always enjoy it when people put their own twist on archetypes like Succubi beyond the typical &quo...

Re: Suggestions for recruiters?

5) Tell us something about your project and what you expect from people. Artists may not want to draw certain things or genres for example, and it can create interest. Absolutely. A lot of people seem scared that their scripts or concepts are going to get stolen, but that just doesn't happen, in my...

Re: Do you optimize your assets?

Yeah, that was probably a bit presumptuous of me. I don't think you'll do yourself any harm by designing the optimum version of your game to be the windowed version, though. From what I've seen elsewhere in the indie gaming community, windowed does seem to be the norm, at least for simpler 2D stuff....

Suggestions for recruiters

First off, I'd just like to say that I don't want to seem like I'm mini-modding. I just keep seeing the same mistakes posted in the recruitment section, and it'd probably be helpful to everyone to offer some guidelines when posting there. It could save a few zero-reply recruitment topics from sinkin...

Re: Tips for a Beginner Creating a Dating Sim?

The most important thing for your first game, in my opinion - keep it short, keep it simple. Just get it done and out the door. Your first effort won't be a masterpiece, but you'll learn a massive amount of useful stuff to use in future and get a taste of the process of actually finishing and releas...

Re: How long do you wait?

I like to dive into it right away. I may not see it through to completion, but taking immediate action usually results in several other related concepts I find interesting, all of which tends to get fed back into future projects. My current project (and certainly the one I'm taking most seriously of...

Re: Do you optimize your assets?

I'd certainly be wary of going too high-res with images, definitely design for a set resolution when you can (I'd guess most folks are going to be playing VNs in a window, I'd personally consider anything over a 720p baseline to be massive overkill, and even that's pushing it). And be careful with s...
