Re: Face to Face character format

I don't like when I can see the protag... because I kinda wanna feel that "I" am the protag if I'm playing an otome game or something. Unlike a book, a game or visual novels are the few ways where this can happen. :) I want the characters to face me and make it feel I'm the one going throu...

Re: Just being curious...

Make a game/novel you really love, and your audience will find you. :)

Re: Settings that you would appreciate

I like different settings because I like learning about different places, even if the place is totally made up. World building in fantasy is super important. There's been books written on the topic. Most of the books I've written came from real places I've been. Even if I call the name something els...

Re: Get your Brutally Honest Reviews here

I went to go look at it, but whenever you are ready for it, send it along. I've been trudging my way through learning Japanese, so I'm particularly interested in it. :)

Re: Protagonist Characterization or DO NOT WANT

Let's talk about flaws. :) Flaws aren't there to be interesting. They are there to do something. The only reason you want to point out a flaw is if the flaw becomes a problem with the main character getting what he/she wants. Goes like this: Main character wants to be a pianist, there's lots of reas...

"She turns around and bends down to flip through the class list on her desk. I notice some of the guys practically breaking their necks to get a good look at her. They're even more eager to pull back quickly and look innocent when she straightens up, list and pen in hand." "She bent ...

Re: Protagonists that you would appreciate

I don't care if the hero is a superhero or Jon Smith. He needs a personality that fits him and he needs one internal conflict and one external conflict. Otherwise the character is boring. ;) The normal kid walking to school one day isn't a story. If the normal kid has a secret drinking problem and h...

Re: De-motivation and Opinion

Right now, some stuff I read about my VNs sorta made me feel bad. I feel so depressed I would have thought of cancelling WB and get over it. But guys, I know you've received critique more than me; I'm just an unpopular 14-year old VN maker trying to entertain herself and make an illusion that she's...

Re: Get your Brutally Honest Reviews here

If anyone would like me to look at stuff, I'm willing to look at WIP stuff. You should know ahead of time that I've been a freelance writer for several years. I've sold short stories, a graphic novel, and I've got a romantic suspense with an agent being shopped around to publishers (with more in the...

Re: Submitting your VNs to Desura

One editor got back with me already. She said they looked interesting but she'd have to talk with her publisher about them. They don't deal with things like this right now obviously but it's really about the type of thing it is. They are obviously not prepared for something like it. But she's going ...

But I guess I could shoot an email to a couple of publishers and agents. I'm friends with a couple of them. I hadn't thought about it but they might at least have some insight.

Re: Submitting your VNs to Desura

It might be interesting to someone like Samhain or Ellora's Cave. Since they are a smaller market, and they cater to the ebook market, they might look at the concept. But then again, they may not know what to do with it since they deal so heavily with ebooks rather than something like this. Your cut...
