Re: Sprite Dimensions for Ren'py?
I make sure to look at the horizon level of my background art (in this case I've drawn it myself previously, intentionally using a horizon level that's as consistent as I could). Then I size the characters so that their eyes are approximately at the horizon level, depending on whether I want them to...

Re: Drawing consistent characters?
EDIT: I'd say that's the real test. Can you hide your character's hair and put them in a completely different outfit and still be able to recognize them in a cast of characters? This! <3 It says so much all at once. Also, a practical tip; when you do those concept sketches LateWhiteRabbit mentioned...

Re: List of Expressions
That is going to vary tremendously based on the personalities of your characters and the story script. I agree with this! I don't have any set of base expressions I use for all characters, rather I try to get a feel for their personality and figure out what I need from there. It's a bit like acting...

Re: How Often Do You Draw?
It depends on what you count as drawing? I doodle on things constantly, pretty much as soon as I sit down in front of the tv, in class or even in meetings (it helps me keep my focus).
But serious digital painting things I do maybe 2-3 times a week?

Re: A site for poses
I second the posemaniacs recommendation. What I do a lot is actually try the pose out for myself in front of a mirror. It's a bit like acting, actually. studying people in everyday life (like looking at people waiting for a train) is also helpful in building a mental library of poses which make sens...

Re: Free writer and musician (I need to build my portfolio)
Another idea and one I'd love to work with if anyone else here is into visual kei/visual rock is a BL story set within the scene at some point from 80s to 2010s. It could be "names filed off" e.g. characters heavily based on actual visual rockers but with different names and stories somew...

Re: Someone kind with good drawing skills
So basically, you want these three anime style-ish sprites with some different expressions? Or is there anything else? What kind of anime style do you prefer in particular? I like your attitude and what you've posted of your idea so far, so I might be able to help you for free if it's just those thr...

Re: The Worst VN/KN Ever - 2013
This... May actually be something I should try. XD My long-term, ambitious projects are taking so long (read: I've been working on them seriously for three-four weeks each and they're not done, haha. I'm impatient )- because that's what serious projects do, I guess. But I really want to finish somet...

Re: What am I doing wrong when creating a choice???!!
God I feel SUPER stupid right now, where/how can I give you that code? You would need to select it in your script editor, push ctrl+c (or cmd+c if you're on a mac), then go back into the forums and push ctrl+v to paste that part of the code into a new forum post. Edit: You would also need to use th...

Re: What am I doing wrong when creating a choice???!!
Basically your "menu:" bit is indented and you don't want to be indented. As I said, my English isn't very good and that was the word I didn't understand. Could you please give an explenation or a synonym? Ah, I see. For the verb "to indent", dictionary.com gives this as one of ...

Re: What am I doing wrong when creating a choice???!!
I think it would be best if you copy & paste the code to your post so we can correct it. So yeah, I'm a real noob. What do you exactly mean? The weblink or what? Talann is referring to the actual script code, from your script.rpy file. It sounds from your error message like the indentation (num...

Re: Favorite program?
I only really use Painter, and a little touch here and there of OpenCanvas (because there are a few things that Painter simply refuses to do for me). xD
That is for 2D art, for 3D I use Blender, SketchUp and ZBrush.
