Odd resizing bug with launcher + projects
I'm having this bizarre problem with dragging the ren'py launcher window, as well as any projects launched from it. It's quite hard to capture so I don't have screenshots, but basically dragging the window will actually resize it, infinitely. The anchor point is the top left corner of the window and...

Intentionally undefining a variable?
I'm trying to get a simple achievements system working using variables, I've set it up like so: label achievements: menu: "Achievement 1" if ach_1 = "True": "Achievement Achieved" jump achievements I know this will throw errors, so I define ach_1 == "false" at the start, however this will re-set the...

Re: Perfectly sync audio tracks for "dynamic" music?
My guess is that since renpy needs to buffer those audio data from your hdd to memory, any lags while accessing your hdd might cause your tracks becoming out of sync. Anyway... wouldn't it make more sense to mix all those tracks into one audio file? Is there any specific reason why you want to play...

Perfectly sync audio tracks for "dynamic" music?
I've been playing with the idea of dynamic music, I've been doing it like so: play music "snd/bg/island_base.ogg" loop fadein 1.0 $ renpy.music.set_volume(0, 0, channel="music2") $ renpy.music.set_volume(0, 0, channel="music3") $ renpy.music.set_volume(0, 0, channel="music4") play music2 "snd/bg/isl...

Re: ATL statement contains two expressions in a row; is one
This is bizarre, it's not working unless I remove the ease time; ease zoom 1.0 Or at least, it doesn't give out errors about it, as I can't see the game running because I get this: File "game/ cutscene_04.rpy", line 17: expected statement. pause 11 ^ File "game/ cutscene_04.rpy", line 18: end of lin...

ATL statement contains two expressions in a row; is one of t
File "game/ cutscene_04.rpy", line 6: ATL statement contains two expressions in a row; is one of them a misspelled property? If not, separate them with pass. ease 5 zoom 1 yalign 1 Ah 5:30am, that's when Ren'Py errors happen. Here is my code: show art sign with flash: zoom 1.3 yalign 0 subpixel Tru...

Re: Using statements to define menu background?
Absolutely fantastic work Asceai, worked just fine.
Thanks for the heads up on the persistent data too, totally forgot about that.
Support forums like this should have a PayPal donate button, haha.

Using statements to define menu background?
Is it possible to have the background change the more the user progresses into the game? I have this sitting in my options.rpy mm_root = if title == "changed": "img/sys/title/computer.png" else: "img/sys/title/blurred.png" In screens.rpy I have screen main_menu: window: style "mm_root" tag menu imag...

Re: Welcome to the NHK
Welcome to the NHK is fantastic, I started with the anime, then read the novel and manga, each version is different, but they're all fantastic.
The ending of the anime is what inspired me to start my NHK VN, since it has less closure than the manga.

Obfuscating images in Ren'Py 6.14? [SOLVED]
I can't seem to find the tool to do this in the launcher, am I blind or has this function been changed/removed? EDIT: Alright, figured it out, you just need to list your image folder(s) as "archive" in options.rpy, easypeasy. You can delete this thread if you want, but I don't think I've seen this d...

Re: epub 3.0 VN
I'm almost certain Ren'Py wouldn't be able to do this in it's current state, I'd assume it'd take an entire re-write of the engine, since most of Ren'Pys functions would probably be lost when porting over to epub. Then again, I know nothing about Ren'Pys development, so I could be wrong, that's just...

Re: Disabling clicking during transitions?
If I declare a hard pause, I'm aware that the player cannot click through it, however the game will NOT proceed to display the next transition until the hard pause has ended. Isn't that what you wanted? Forcing the whole thing to display without interruption? If not, I think you need to explain mor...

Re: Disabling clicking during transitions?
I'm pretty sure I'm having trouble understanding how hard pauses work in this situation. If I declare a hard pause, I'm aware that the player cannot click through it, however the game will NOT proceed to display the next transition until the hard pause has ended. I understand the nature of a hard pa...
