Re: Let's pool together and pay artists to create CC-BY bg a
The hardest part of gathering free materials for a game isn't finding the free, high quality stuff. It's finding enough consistent stuff so that you have what you need to make your game. I'd suggest starting first by finding a few artists (character, background, UI) who are professional enough to st...

Nope. I like playing cards better than making up card games I guess.

Ah, cool, like the new guy!
Personally I'm really tired of the school setting so if you moved on and did other settings I'd be very happy.
You could use spoiler tags to organize the first post, that should help it not get too huge unless you opened all the spoilers at once.

Re: Otome Sprites [3 males | updated 6.10.14]
I think a few girl sprites would be good, it opens up other story possibilities beyond a pure romance game. Really the more sprites you have in the same style, the more useful they all become regardless of what the next sprite is. Personally I'd like to see some men in their 30's.

Re: Choose-Your-Own-Adventure
If all you want to do is practice, using Renpy to make a text game would work just fine. That way you wouldn't be learning lots of different engines as you progress, instead you'd just be learning one. Renpy is easy enough to use that it would work just as well as the others, all you'd need to do is...

Re: Choose-Your-Own-Adventure
If you want purely text based adventure games, the search engine words to use are "text adventure" and "interactive fiction". Quest, TADS and Adrift are the ones that come up most often. There are a lot of them because the programming when it's purely text is fairly basic.

Re: RPG Gamemaker Reccomendations?
Hey, I'm a mod there! I know all about this. Not sure why you'd ask about it here instead of there though. The forums there are very active. I've tried a number of RPG Making engines including multiple versions of RPG Maker. The mapping is much better in XP but for everything else Ace has been the e...

Re: Male Otome Sprite (practice, may upload more)
That's a good looking and good quality sprite! I think this is a great way to get back into the habit of drawing, I look forward to seeing more.

Re: The Creator VS The Creation
As a reader the author's intention has a pretty high standing compared to other interpretations. I also think knowing the character of the author can add some depth to the work. Creative sorts often put together work that is more than they are, so a jerk author doesn't bother me too much. A super aw...

Re: artistic confidence
I struggle with this myself. I used to be so prolific and for so long now I can't get anything out. It's like I've forgotten how to draw. I realized something though, at some point I let my self worth get all tangled up in my ability to draw, so if I made a bad drawing it meant I was a bad person. I...

I really like whatever filter combination you used. That dock image doesn't look processed, it looks painted. For the others, I'd say it's a good place to start a paint over.

Ah, my apologies, Pytom. I'd gotten my forums mixed up and forgotten that this was one of the ones with that rule.
