Re: AJAX/Wiki VN engine

Anyway I remembered that Ajax is not flash, so I guess the engine is fine as it is for simple VN. The problem from lack of image manipulation is that it require more duplicated images for faking effects (eg. 2 images for a zoom, normal and "zoomed" image) thus overloading the server. Zoom...

Re: AJAX/Wiki VN engine

each scene is assigned a code, so that the player can copy it for each one he/she reached (emphasize on "can") and start the game from the point he/she left off earlier. Yeah, that would certainly work for shorter VNs (which should be the majority). But whew, I hated that system in those ...

Re: AJAX/Wiki VN engine

Though you still get problems with saving game data (cookies? session IDs?) but they are manageable, too. I'd just use a login. Cookies wouldn't work, because you'd have to be on the same browser all the time and there's the expiration date. But cookies are HTTP standard and you can renew them, or ...

Re: AJAX/Wiki VN engine

Interesting implementation. The system is limited, but using a JavaScript library ( JQuery , ExtJS ) you do have quite a few effects in stock. I think something like blending should be possible, though very resource-consuming. And then there's the problem of having to be online. Though you still get...

Re: Brass Restoration translated!

But, is Minori's route really that short? When I tried to pursue her, it ended right on the day after valentine's. No... I just actually finished Minori's good ending and it was almost March by the time it ended. Are you sure you didn't get the 2/14 bad ending? Go Help -> About this software -> End...

Re: Brass Restoration translated!

I played Yui's route today and was quite surprised of it's quality. Okay, to be honest, I was expecting the VN for quite some time. The dialogues are hilarious, although sometimes they got a bit on my nerves. The music fits the mood but got a bit repetitive, too. But, is Minori's route really that s...

Re: Kanon

Seems like it's only until the arcs divide. From what I've read at gemot.

Even so I'm pretty excited - finally I'm able to play Kanon. ;]

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^

Hm... since my USB stick got grilled and with it my Ren'Py game (I'll never ever again save something like this solely on a flash drive), I'd like to at least show what art I've done so far. For starters, the first cg: ["I'm gonna blow away your mind"] Close shot of the heroine's face with...

Re: I'm outside! Right now! XD

Might be just me, but I think he's talking about the country-wide connection. I don't think the OP uses WLAN access points. E.g. a friend of mine once used EDGE to get his internet connection anywhere he went. :D It has its charms, but I don't really need mobile internet, since I rather sleep in the...

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^

I'm always happy about earnest critique. Just helps me to improve. And also thanks for the image. I always start off in a similar way - but oh well, on the tablet it just doesn't work as good as on the paper. ;) The sorest spot for me would be the hands. Yes, I tried to draw a little more difficult ...

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^

Just a little something I made around last week.

Now that I look at it, the head's too wide. :D
Ah well, I prefer sketching on paper.

[edit]
Thanks NOUGHTS, I'll look after those mistakes.
