Re: I don't understand this error

As I said (maybe not very clearly, I admit) before. The error "invalid literal for int() with base 16" in Ren'Py generally points to a color value wrongly typed. Ren'Py recognizes RGB hex values ("#fff" or "#ffffff") or RGBA (A for Alpha or transparency value) hex values ("#ffffff7f"). If you type, ...

Re: Script files disappearances?

Does it affect Atom?
No. :)
Editra is not a virus, it's only "use-it-at-your-own-risk" abandonware.
Even good old jEdit has more features, and it's safer to use.

Re: I don't understand this error

Check any hexadecimal strings in your scripts (like color RGB values) for typing errors.
That's usually what the "invalid literal for int() with base 16" error points to.
Usually, you will get an "invalid literal for int() with base 16:'#'" message.
'gr' is a novelty to me.

Re: Script files disappearances?

In the Ren'Py section of this forum, you will find several answers to this question. Here's one of them: https://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?p=451525#p451525 It isn't really a Ren'Py issue, it's only your text editor playing tricks on you (most of the time is abandonware Editra to blame)...

Another (apparently discontinued) free VN engine is Java-based NVList (http://nvlist.weeaboo.nl/). Version 3.3 was released in 2013.

You can also try clicking the "Force Recompile" button in the "Actions" section of the Ren'Py Launcher screen after making changes to your script.

I can't get this to run on a Mac. Latest OSX. Is it just me? Maybe it doesn't like my Ren'Py installation?
If I recall it correctly, in case a Ren'Py game refuses to run on your system try putting the whole game folder inside your Ren'Py projects folder and run the game from the Ren'Py Launcher.

Re: a warning about Google Play

If a flying saucer's pilot ever approaches you saying "Take me to your leader", just direct him to 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway in Mountain View, California. I don't know if the alien's going to really find there what he's looking for, but chances are people there will do anything they could to convinc...
