Re: How Do I Use KHMix 1st Edition?

Never used it before, but that's what I figured out after some fiddling with that editor: you can save your character for further editing by pressing control + s. When done, export your character to an image file by pressing F5 (Choose a format. You're probably going to save it as a PNG).

Re: I've got a bunch of unfinished projects *with video evidence

Nice video. I'm sorry you have lost all that stuff, but I have no doubt you had a good time working on them and you have surely learned a lot. Currently, I have no less than sixteen projects started/suspended/in development. The reason for so many projects is that I'm an apprentice, and each project...

Re: ATL flickering when transitions are used?

You can also try this:

Code: Select all

image fog:
   "Fog1.png" with Dissolve(0.5, alpha = True)
   0.50
   "Fog2.png" with Dissolve(0.5, alpha = True)
   0.50
   Repeat

Isn't "zoom" a reserved name? Have you tried "my_zoom", or something else?

Re: Renpy convertion to online browsergame?

There's this guy here: viewtopic.php?f=57&t=35502#p391966
He converted a lot of Ren'Py games to online games (including some I've created) but I don't know exactly how he does it (if anybody else knows).

Re: Fade in and out characters

No problem. ATL is still the way, though. :) Take a look here, even if you can't read Russian (I can't, even in World Cup's time): http://renpyfordummies.blogspot.com/2018/05/2.html You can use Google translator to undertand the text. There's a project download link right above the picture. It still...

Re: Fade in and out characters

Even though I can't say I fully understood what you want, I believe transitions are not what you need. You can try some ATL instead. ATL documentation is here: https://www.renpy.org/doc/html/atl.html#animation-and-transformation-language You can find examples of ATL code in the Cookbook section. ATL...

Nice tutorial, though making it a game is a bit strange
I believe that's a nice way to demonstrate things. I guess you never played the Ren'Py Tutorial game.

Don't worry, English is not my first language either :) . The latest versions of The Question are using backgrounds created by Mugenjohnson. He's a member here and you can PM him regarding any question (no pun intended). "Uncle" Mugen releases a lot of material in the Creative Commons section of thi...

Re: Making a polished epigraph? (Using Text() displayable)

In "No Dice!" (one of my many many current projects) I prefer to use the centered character (https://www.renpy.org/doc/html/dialogue.html#special-characters) for a similar effect. This is how I use it: scene black centered "{size=24}\"So God does play dice with the universe. All the evidence points ...

Re: Am I Downloading The Right Ren'Py Version?

If you are in Windows, go to Control Panels/Appearance/Folder Options, and uncheck "Hide extensions of known file types". That will let you see the file extensions. Look for Renpy.exe inside the main SDK folder, and run it.

So I feel unqualified to participate in the quiz.
Same here. But, as soon as I read that the quiz is based on VNDB data, I understood it wasn't for me.

If you are in https://www.renpy.org/latest.html then you can simply click the "Download SDK zip" link. Unzip the Ren'Py SDK folder to a place where you have full read/write permissions.

Re: Ending credits skipable after seen once

Personally, I believe credits should be always skippable. Forcing players to do things is the best way to make them look for a more friendly game to play. Anyway, that's your game and your audience :) . You will find some ideas in this thread (discussion on this topic start around post #13: https://...
