Exception when using OOP & Rollback module and reload

Hello, everyone! I’m using the cookbook OOP & Rollback module to take care of rollback with class variables. But simply importing the module init -999: $ from oop import * leads to this exception whenever you try to reload (shift+r) the game: I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred. While ...

Re: Automatic character, background, etc. image defining scr

Ah! You’re right!

In the end, I ended up with this code and using show_side_image=ShowingSwitch() with the path_lists and paths the function collected.

Thanks for all of your help!

Re: Automatic character, background, etc. image defining scr

Thanks once again! I've been trying my best to have it work in my function* ( http://pastebin.com/1Bkyf7v7 ), but no dice OTL. When the commented section is uncommented, I am able to write things to the effect** of t fight_pose school_uni angry "ORRRAAAA!" but no side image appears, only t...

Re: Automatic character, background, etc. image defining scr

Thanks for sharing your code! It’s been very helpful. I am wondering how one would go about automatically defining side sprites, though. In the Ren'Py Documentation function and class index , I didn't see any function that's equivalent to the "image side" statement. I’ve also looked at the...

Re: Non-native english speaker needs critique

^ Late reply, but about all the above stuff, good to know! I guess I had more of a problem with the "It's" being used in the sentence ("It's GG."). "GG" or "Good game" would suffice. Unless the work is meant to target gamers mostly, I'd say it'd be better to b...

Re: Non-native english speaker needs critique

A lot of gamers might swear, but your gamer characters don't have to, unless you want your characters to be gamers who swear. I've seen "gg" used in chat, but I think one normally says "good game" over the mic (and it would just be clearer). So for that part, I'd suggest n "...

Re: Opinions needed about intro and references

I didn't know the reference in your example, but you gave me enough context for it to be understood. Intro sounds interesting, but the protagonist's thoughts while dying don't really sound like that of a child's? Or at least, sounds more like the thoughts of a teenager (or his older self reflecting ...

Re: carnevale [escape game] + sostenuto [bxb implied romance

That's intentional (: Because choosing to escape is to run away from the door (because at that point the subject knows what lies outside it). Oh, I see! :o Yes, I saw the picture x) Which is why that creepy part I mentioned earlier became extra creepy to me xD But you don't have to apologize for th...

Re: carnevale [escape game] + sostenuto [bxb implied romance

Got two more endings in carnevale~ the end, to be continued Although, for the first of the above endings, when you choose STAY, to the question 'escape?', you input 'no' when it should be 'yes', since the computer then says 'farewell' and the hatch opens. It's too bad that you can't save whenever yo...

Re: carnevale [escape game] + sostenuto [bxb implied romance

Thank *you* for making these games! ;)

For the other carnevale bug,
the observatory doesn't show up in the index at all. It's not in the room menu, so I can't read a description/log for it.
(index --> room --> (observatory missing))
Now to explore some more!

Re: carnevale [escape game] + sostenuto [bxb implied romance

I think I got all the endings for sostenuto! (4, right?) I liked the art, but I felt the story could have been more interesting. I suppose it was meant to be a sort of sleepy story? Even if that were the case, I think the story would have been more enjoyable if there was greater focus on the charact...

Re: Using real life cultures/locations is appropriation?

The problem with using fictional ideas is that they are inevitably going to be based on real life ideas. So for example, a writer plans a story that takes place in a fantastical 18th century Europe-like location but with fictional ideas that are noticeably influenced by modern day USA culture. Or n...
