Re: Ren'Py 7.1.0 Prereleased

I updated and I get a strange behavior. If I launch the game, starts normally. If I try to build Android or do "force recompile" I get the red error message "make sure the game launches normally bla bla". Checking errors.txt in the game folder I saw: I'm sorry, but errors were detected in your scrip...

Re: Ren'Py 7.1.0 Prereleased

Cool, I'll give it a try, especially for Android since my game was completely removed/censored from Google Play and I have to resubmit it as new app, will do the full process :)

Re: Ren'Py 7.1.0 Prereleased

Republished the game it was removed with the new version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.winterwolves.bionicheartdemo (had to censor a girl in bikini... lol). If anyone want to try and confirm the IAP works (no need to buy of course, you can just tap and see if the purchase window...

Re: Ren'Py 7.1.0 Prereleased

Updated to the latest pre-release, again the memory bug. I would really suggest Pytom to put a value like: -Xmx512M in the gradle.properties, since even people with 16/32Gb won't be able to create an APK with higher values (and honestly it doesn't change anything, it's not like the build is slower?)...

Re: Ren'Py 7.1.0 Prereleased

I think I remember before Ren'Py was automatically signing them all with the Android key (android.keystore). I remember in the RAPT bin folder being two different APK, unsigned, and signed (I'm 99% sure of this). I don't think you can publish an unsigned APK on Google Play anyway?

Re: Ren'Py 7.1.0 Prereleased

The apk produced now though are "unsigned". The filenames are like:
com.winterwolves.bionicheartdemo-10208-armeabi-v7a-release-unsigned.apk
while before I think they were correctly signed? I need to sign them manually ? (I don't think) thanks!

Re: Ren'Py 7.1.0 Prereleased

That's interesting :)
FroGlenn did you manage to make the IAP work? I am getting an error message on startup in my game. But I am not using Android studio to publish, just Ren'Py like before.

Re: Ren'Py 7.1.0 Prereleased

A question about this new release, I think some behavior in screens has changed. before I could set variable values directly on the screens, like: $curlabel=XYZ;locID=Map[x][y] and so on. Now, seems that all variables are "local" to the screen. If I want "curlabel" which I change in the screen to be...

Re: Ren'Py 7.1.0 Prereleased

For the heap error found a solution online: Step 1 : Open gradle.properties file in your Android Studio project. Step 2: Find the line in the file: # The setting is particularly useful for tweaking memory settings. org.gradle.jvmargs=-Xmx256m I put 256 instead of the default value which was 1576-som...

Re: Ren'Py 7.1.0 Prereleased

Interesting. Is there a way to use some thing like "cloud saves" ? I am a total newbie when comes to Android  But probably the most commonly requested feature from the android players was a way to store the savegames "in the cloud". Now I don't know if there's something that can be added ea...

Re: Am I Being Paid Fairly?

As an employer (I hired many people over the years though I do all the Patreon stuff myself) I can give my opinion. One thing most people forget is how hard was to get there. You see someone making $$$ and think immediately you deserve a cut. Sure you need to be paid fairly. However, to get where th...

Re: RAPT and Android SDK after download Renpy Updates

I kept using the same RAPT directory in the last... maybe 5-6 renpy releases? the only time I had to redownload it was this time because as others said, it really changed everything. I simply copy the rapt folder over a new install, and at least in my case it works fine. (except this time since need...

Re: Ren'Py 7.0 Released

Congrats! I still remember how Ren'Py was 10 years ago, already good compared to other tools to make VN (and also more than VNs!), but now it's really a pleasure to use :)
