Composite doc missing

I don't know if I'm blind, but I can't seem to find anymore the documentation both for im.Composite and LiveComposite. I know they've been renamed, but even searching just for "composite" returns nothing. Since it's probably the most used function of Ren'Py ever (unless you have characters all weari...

Need video trailer for game

Unfortunately the person that usually does my video trailer can't work right now, and I need a trailer done relatively quickly (2 weeks max). The video itself is not complex at all, it's for my latest RPG (more info here: http://winterwolves.com/cursedlands.htm) I have already the full audio file, a...

Re: Ren'Py 6.99.14.2 Released

And now I got a crash never seen before. Posting it here in case can give you a clue about the other variable bug: I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred. While running game code: File "game/gameflow.rpy", line 16, in script call call opening_barcrawl from _call_opening_barcrawl2 File "game/G...

Re: Ren'Py 6.99.14.2 Released

OK now it happens regularly! Another example, I get this crash if I hit shift+R while the screen ChangeRomanceVar is showing: I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred. While running game code: File "game/gameflow.rpy", line 16, in script call call opening_barcrawl from _call_opening_barcrawl2 F...

Re: Ren'Py 6.99.14.2 Released

I'm afraid but there's still something messed up with variables :( I was debugging my screen code with shift+R and all of a suddenly I got the infamous "NameError" crash. The variable this time is "line" which I use to display the current game line when user press a key. This has been in my games si...

Re: 6.99.14.2 Prereleased

Before the introduction of default, init was the way to define variables. So the fix also preserves the source code of 2-3 years old games, not just the old saves. Also in many cases an init block is much more convenient than default, like if you need to define a bunch of variables, you can do in a ...

Re: 6.99.14.2 Prereleased

Cool glad I was of help :) I also believe there's some issue with variable saving. I posted on github about the rollback, but I think the real culprit is the variable saving (I saw the bug using rollback but because with autoreload it would save/reload every time, so I got confused). Before (all pre...

Re: 6.99.14.2 Prereleased

The latest version has a problem with the miss_cache attribute, that breaks compatibility with ALL old saves (which is VERY bad!). I managed to make it work editing slast.py lines 2020 like this: try: context.miss_cache = get_cache(current_screen.miss_cache) except: context.miss_cache = context.old_...

Re: 6.99.14.2 Prereleased

No wait, on the left there's the directory tree. You can click on each to open it. But with Editra it actually opens in the editor, so you can quickly alt-tab to jump from a file to another. But anyway that was the minor gripe :) There were a lot of minor annoying thing, like the search/replace comp...

Re: 6.99.14.2 Prereleased

I know how to do it manually, but why I should do it when the previous editor does it automatically? :) Basically I found Atom worse under almost every aspect (except for code folding) to Editra. Less user friendly, with design choices that instead of speeding up the coding process, slows it down. I...

Re: 6.99.14.2 Prereleased

As much as I liked the idea of using Atom I quickly gave up: - manually have to open each file. In editra it opens all the .rpy files on startup automatically. When you have large projects like mine with 40+ files... - lol search and replace of selection was MISSING! I can't believe in 2018 an edito...

Re: 6.99.14.2 Prereleased

I have a question regarding the new renpy.start_predict. I followed the docs and put the lines: init python: renpy.start_predict("gui/*.*") renpy.start_predict("gfx/anim/*.*") renpy.start_predict("gfx/skill/*.*") renpy.start_predict("gfx/effects/*.*") renpy.start_predict("gfx/portraits/*.*") renpy.s...

Re: 6.99.14.2 Prereleased

Does support auto-completion for Ren'py command or even python classes/keywords? :) Just wondering, not a big deal if doesn't!
