Re: Three Cheers for PyTom!

I started using Ren'py when I was living in poverty. The fact that it was free and open allowed me to learn so much. I would not now be working in my dream job in games without Ren'py. Thank you PyTom - the giver of wishes. :)

Aw, that's so cute! He does look peaceful and kind. I wonder if there's a way to incorporate "clumsy" into painting like this without losing "peaceful"? Hmmm...

Re: [Kickstarter Launched!] As We Know It [GxB][GXG][VN][Romance|Drama|Apocalypse][DEMO out now!]

Just wanted to say that I finally got round to playing the demo and really enjoyed it! I didn't have time to get too far into the game, but it's well written and a world I enjoy immersing myself in. You've got my backing on the Kickstarter... nearly there now!

Re: As We Know It [GxB][GXG][VN][Romance|Drama|Apocalypse]

Sorry if you already know all of this, but I've got two monitors, a decent one and a crappy one, and I noticed today that I couldn't see Micah's facial features on my crappy monitor (because the contrast was too low), only his eyes. I took a photo of both monitors to show you how it compares. Obviou...

Thanks Zelan, that's so nice to hear! ^_^
We are working towards an updated demo with first 2 weeks of gameplay (out of 8 ), which will give a much better idea of the final game.

Re: As We Know It [GxB][GXG][VN][Romance|Drama|Apocalypse]

I love the character art and the setting! What is the rough scope in terms of wordcount and/or play time do you think? Does sketchy, work-in-progress art in a demo really annoy you? Or any aspect that it *has* to have? (Like it must be color, but sketchy is ok) Nope does not annoy me as long as it's...

Re: Stranded Hearts [Survival Sim][GxG]

@jeshii - thanks so much for your feedback - not sure how I managed to miss it all this time!! :( I love all your suggestions and will have a good think about them (especially the one about showing the items in the menu). As it happens I just wrote a post about timed options in the game (see below) ...

Re: Resizing Screenshot Image Thumbnail on Save/Load Screens?

I have the config.thumbnail_width / config.thumbnail_height in my options.rpy and that seems to work. It doesn't like negative numbers and gives me an error if I try to make them negative. I assume you weren't getting the same error because you have -200 in your code? If so, that would suggest to me...

Re: Is my character art good enough? (please critique)

Not much in terms of feedback, just wanted to say I like the trees in the Earth-chan picture and I think the foreshortening works really well on the hand that comes towards the viewer. In the latest picture, the shading on the thighs is really nice and the hair looks flowy - like the girl jumped and...

Re: Sasquatchii's Art Thread (Critiques & Constructive Criticism Requested) [NSFW]

Bit late to the game, but I love your self-portrait!! So cute! I actually associate it with your "signature" style... as in... when I think of you as an artist it's those little doodles that I think of, and the kind of art that you used in A Day in the Life of a Slice of Bread. Or the litt...

Re: Simple minigames (Screen Language only).

I am not 100% sure, but isn't python/renpy tab-sensitive? Remove one tab and see if this fixes it? if result == "talk": call talk_monsters You could also double check that you're not accidentally mixing tabs and spaces. I don't know if it's changed over the years but I'm pretty sure Ren'py...

Re: My First OC, Looking for honest feedback.

If you're looking for the style in Hyperdimension Neptunia, their hand proportion of fingertip-to-wrist is approximately chin-to-eyebrow, whereas "realistic" hands tend to be chin-to-hairline size (test it yourself, if you're a teenager or older, it's likely you can just almost reach your ...

Re: My First OC, Looking for honest feedback.

It's a good start! You paid attention to all the important details, like folds in the arms and buttons, shadow. The proportions also look pretty good, although the hands may be a little on the small side (can be stylistic though). Kudos for drawing them in interesting positions - they flow naturally...
