Re: Ren'Py 6.99 Released

So, what's happening here is that 6.99.6 is adjusting the kerning automatically to fix the text in the same box it would be in if the screen was not scaled. My current thinking is that of a number of bad behaviors, this is the least so - I think preserving the laid-out text size is more important t...

Re: Ren'Py 6.99 Released

Been having internet connection issues for a while, so apologies to the late reply. I added a quick image to compare what happens(just open them in a new tab and switch between them. It should be noticeable then. It looks normal when windowed, but when I put it on fullscreen, the following behavior ...

Re: Ren'Py 6.99 Released

Fixed it, thank you very much! By the way, may I just ask in which way exactly did the text display change? This newest pre-release is making my test shift a bit from time to time, and it's probably due to an incompatibility with a script, so I was just wondering which code changed the most, to give...

Re: Ren'Py 6.99 Released

Thank you for the quick fix. Sadly, the previous error gets replaced by a similar, but new one. Any idea on what's causing it? I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred. While running game code: File "game/front_page.rpy", line 257, in script File "renpy/common/000statements.rpy&q...

Re: Ren'Py 6.99 Released

Is that the "subsurface rectangle" problem? If so, can you give me the new traceback. It might be subtly different, or it might not. It's the same, past the version numbers. I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred. While running game code: File "game/front_page.rpy", line ...

Re: Ren'Py 6.99 Released

Weird, I thought this'd be gone, but the newest prerelease is still giving me the same error report.
This never happened before and 6.99.5 still works normally.
Any idea on what's going on? it's there no matter if I download the release manually or update the client.

Re: Ren'Py 6.99 Released

Just updated quickly and wanted to try it out. Instead, renpy doesn't start and I get the following error: I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred. While running game code: File "game/front_page.rpy", line 257, in script File "renpy/common/000statements.rpy", line 457, in e...

Re: Ren'Py 6.99 Released

Just a thought.
The Text and Outline are both on different layers, aren't they? This may introduce more unwanted issues, but wouldn't it be possible to just make the outline be upscaled like the rest of the game, instead of being rendered on a bigger resolution like the text?

Re: Ren'Py 6.99 Released

What is the problem with the outline there? Is it that the shadow is shifted one up and left? That and some pixels being empty between the text and outline. I suppose it's just an aftereffect of outlines being used for a fading out outline. They really weren't originally supposed to be used for tha...

Re: Ren'Py 6.99 Released

Any advice on this?
Screenshot 24 is how it looks in fullscreen, and the outline looks much worse.

Re: Ren'Py 6.99 Released

I was suspicious about the text resizing, but it's resized really well, not losing the position or size of outlines. Really well done. Small question though. I'm using an image displayable for the CTC indicator. It's made to resemble the font so it's a white symbol with outlined. Now that the text i...

Removing menu buttons from android port and touch controls

Greetings, I searched the documentation for this, but I didn't manage to find anything helpful yet: Is it possible to (like what some other VNs on smartphones do) remove the menu bar and lock the application into fullscreen mode? And make it control with swipes or two-finger touches. For example, if...

Re: Issue while trying to build for Android

Originally no. After I discovered this didn't work, i tried defining them both just in case. It still didn't help so I removed them again. Do you believe I should try again with that? Does ant have any x86 dependencies one would need on a 64-bit system? Doesn't seem so (at least it's not documented)...
