Re: Sakura Blossoms-A Sacred Promise (GXB)(Romance/Drama)

The art style for a lot of the sprites look a little BxG to me, but overall the game seems promising. The premise is simple, but I like it. The text box, as I agree, does seem a little out of place. Perhaps a different color would suit better but as this is just a preview, it'll be interesting seein...

Re: Themes

I like meshing everyday reality with fantasy, but that often includes philosophical standpoints as well. Since my style is somewhat sardonic, fantasy was never my strong point, but as I continue to work I realize that working on several themes can be more than just far too confusing.

Re: Regarding School Life Theme

I consider it 'overused' if it isn't done well, and 'common', if it is. School life is popular with those in school. Occasionally, those who already graduated will like it because it reminds them of the past. Those who haven't gotten there yet will like it because it holds a key to the future. There...

Re: What was your first story?

I was ten years old, playing around on an old Microsoft computer that my parents didn't use anymore. I opened up Word and starting writing down a story entitled 'Oh Fine', which was a journal of daily life from the point of view of a girl a few years younger than me. It's extremely embarrassing to r...

Re: What is your specialized genre?

Sometimes I write something completely out of my element, but mostly mysteries and psychological. I'll be doing a lot of fantasy in the future, however, so I'm practicing.
(Though as long as I can stick some more snarky characters in there, I 'll do better for some reason.)

Re: How is writing for a visual novel different?

Since novels mostly leave the visuals up to the individual, visual novels have to cut down heavily on the graphics descriptions that are obvious, such as hair color, and personality descriptions, since these are all things the player can see for themselves in due time. Depending on what kind of pers...

Re: Writing Solo or Writing with a Co-Writer?

I'm not one that's very good at working with other people who are doing the same thing as I am. I'm doing fine working with an artist, but my experience working with a co-writer was disatrous--but purely my own fault due to my own stubbornness. I like reading things co-written however, because seein...

Re: The [X] Story [Non-romance] [Mystery//thriller]

What story this VN may be similar to doesn't matter to me at all. Overall, it looks fairly interesting and the sprites look nice.

If you think about it, the story could be similar to many, many, things, but so long as you pull it off well, it'll be a great game.

Re: Can you still remember how you found these forums?

My sister and I play a large amount of visual novels. She found the forums first, and I followed about seven months after.

Re: Princess of the Death [GxB][Mystery][Supernatural]

Fascinating. The plot line sounds somewhat mysterious but very fantastical. Your character design, is very nice, and looks as if it will suit your story well. I am looking forward for when you update the topic with more information.

I'd probably be a cross between fascinated and severely creeped out. But instead of avoiding them, I believe I'd be interested, as I'm by nature a very curious person.

Re: Ever been stuck?

I reread what I've written so far, and usually end up pulling my hair out, but rewriting usually gets the flow back in order. I agree, it's much harder to write and easier to mess up if you don't already know what you want to happen. If it's a block, then usually reading something in which I love th...

Re: Strong Characters?

I myself am a large fan of strong heroines, so there are a few factors that can key in to this. They know what they stand for, don't burst into tears at life's every turn, have a personality, and also have distinguishing traits. They don't have to be beating everyone up or feminists.

Re: What factors are important to commercial games?

In the end everything is important, both to commercial and free games. However, as there is a higher stake with commercial games I think they have a higher set of importance as there is more to loose. In the end, I feel what is important is not focusing on one singular aspect, or even 3. I feel it ...
