Disabled buttons still enabled
Hey there, I'm having some trouble with showing disabled buttons. I want a choice to be disabled or enabled depending on a boolean. When it's enabled, everything is fine. When it's disabled, I want to show it, but not be clickable (greyed out, as it were) Through some earlier questions I have found ...

13 minutes of light
http://i.imgur.com/bLhrVrH.png Download from itch.io here. As a first step in publishing my Ludum Dare games and getting ready to work on a long term project, I have polished my Ludum Dare 30 entry: 13 seconds of Light. Originally created in 48 hours, the game was inspired by the theme 'Connect Wor...

Re: Do you make a living of your games?
Are your games successful? Depends on the goals you set for yourself (which is worth defining before you start). I've had some really good Ludum Dare entries were I was very statisfied with my eventual ranking and the things I learned. I didn't earn a cent, but it wasn't my goal. Does all the work ...

Re: WRITERS!!
Is your name Robert Jordan and you lied like a dog to get this far? Made me laugh. Als, I'm all for a cliché done well versus someone trying too hard to be different and failing miserably. It all depends on the delivery and style. As has been said before: taken with a grain of salt the list is a ne...

Re: Writing answers instead of choosing menu options
Bit of a chat with Trick on the IRC-channel. Here's the basics on my input system. Some snippets from the code: Some backgrounds: -It's a fighting game, multiple inputs are required for one 'fight'. That's the reason I do not allow the same input twice in a row. -I check for empty input. Since there...

Re: [Laniessa] Art Thread / Feedback, Critique Appreciated!
EDIT: If there's any writers here, I want to ask how you avoid using 'she' too much at the start of a sentence? 'she walked over and took the tray. she then jumped.' blahblah. I know using adverbs (Slowly, she...) and using verbs (Walking over the the tray and...), but do you know any alternatives?...

I actually quite like your backgrounds. The 'sketchy' part and stretches of colour could work very well when combined with the correct style for sprites, evoking the idea of the structure without spending too much time detailing it.
