Re: Beginner level tutorial
I was wondering: This tutorial is just so helpful to the people who stumble across it, myself included. Is there any way to make this thread into a sticky? The Quickstart Guide for making "The Question" is decent, but I really like that this tutorial makes zero assumptions about the reader...

Re: Beginner level tutorial
Are you still planning to make the next part of the tutorial? I learned so much, already, but the teaser has me wondering what wonderful new things you'll introduce me to, in order to put this all together! Even if you've become too busy to go back to it, thank you, for what you *have* written. It's...

Re: Beginner level tutorial
Oh, my gosh! Thank you! I've gone through the Quickstart tutorial, making my own version of "The Question," and I'm currently working my way through the Ren'Py documentation, and the latter is making me want to tear my hair out. The documentation makes a bad habit referencing things that m...

Re: Comic Book Format
I think there's a future plan to make it easer in ren'py, but currently you need to program by yourself. I know it's possible and not hard, but considering amount of work I have to, I just did a thing you saw it on an above post. Anything you said can be done programatically. You can pass arguments...

Maybe something like this? http://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?p=258785#p258785 Now that I've thought about what you had linked me, as I mentioned in an edit of my first post, I realized I had been limiting myself in terms of what my options are, for what I want to do. Thanks, again, for...

Re: Comic Book Format
That might be it. I'm still really new to Ren'Py, so I need to play with it, in order to see if that does what I have in mind. Thanks for the link!Donmai wrote:Maybe something like this?

Comic Book Format
===== Edit: Monday, February 24, 2014, 2:17 pm (Pacific) ===== After a lot of playing around with Ren'Py, I've found that, at this point in time, the easiest way for me to get the look and feel of a comic book is to simply draw in the word balloons and caption boxes on one layer, in Photoshop (the i...

Heyla and well met! I go by TheKeeper, and variations, thereof. I'm located in the messed up state of California, and my web site is http://www.thekeeper.cavaliercavalry.com/ I love telling stories, and when I discovered that there are actually English Visual Novels, I became more than a little intr...
