Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^

Not sure what I'm even going to do with this, but here's a digital ink I did of an old character of mine. Her name is Cuprum, if it helps. (Helps what? I don't know.) I kind of like it but it needs more. I agree it could be more symmetrical, but I really feel like it's too tight. I can feel all the...

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^

This is a study I was fiddling with while watching TV. It's not perfect, but I'm working on line weight and color depth. I think this is still not dark enough.

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^

So, this doesn't really qualify as mine. It's like that Obama poster---it's so heavily based on a photo as to not really even count. boom-gal.png But I'm working on how to work from models and get the pop from it I like. And I figure if I eventually take the pictures I'm working from, then it counts...

Re: 2009 Lemmy Award Discussion

I appreciate the "most effective story" impulse, but I'd like to see drama and comedy separate. You can successfully argue that many great dramas have comedy leavened within them and some comedies end with drama (see TVtropes.com: "Send out the clowns"). And that's nifty. But dra...

Re: 2009 Lemmy Award Discussion

I liked the awards, and I liked them even when I was convinced I'd lose in every category. Blue Lemma gets kudos for doing such a nice job with them. For me, the nomination lists are the most interesting (although, don't get me wrong, the Bandit's Corner blog has its medallions up right now). I real...

Arigato!

Perhaps when my current wave of deadlines pass, I'll take a look at making a sequel. I will work hard on even fanservicier fanservice. Note to self: Chipmunk-themed ecchi SELLS!

Re: The Ren'Ai Archive (renai.us, RAA) all-in-one thread

Any word on the traffic thing I asked about, while PyTom is paying attention?

I also added Lady Sugarplum to Softpedia, and they helpfully have a download counter, just as the forums here do.

Thanks!

Re: Cleaning is tiring...

When you own things, things own you. Everything you own is one more thing you have to track, dust, put away, and so forth. You could try the packrat rule---if you don't use something within a year, get rid of it. If that's too harsh, move unused items to a "not used" box, and then in two y...

Re: The Ren'Ai Archive (renai.us, RAA) all-in-one thread

Followup from a long time ago---there was some mention of Google Analytics on Renai.us. Is there some way to make that data available, especially on a per-game basis? I ask because I did a little bit of promotion on Lady Sugarplum a few weeks ago, and I'm curious to see what the impact was on renai....

Re: No Boys Allowed! the game

Troll....TROLLLLLLLLL... That was the entire point I was trying to make, but because you POSTED WITHOUT READING MRSULU'S POST, WHICH IS ONE PAGE BACK, you failed to see that Mrsulu wants the game to start with a cliche panty flash, and I would rather Mikan not insult the reader's intelligence and pr...

Re: No Boys Allowed! the game

This is not a mystery thriller here, the "hook" in a dating sim = the backstory and the heroines, you don't need to hook the reader in the opening few lines. That is just pretentious. I don't think you're getting what I'm writing. I WANT him to start with his beautiful and interesting wom...

Re: No Boys Allowed! the game

I agree(d), the collision start is cliche. Eschewing cliche is good. It doesn't have to start with the collision. The point is not whether a story should start with or without monologue, or with or without an explosion. The point is that the opening monologue in his sample turned out to be backstory...

Re: No Boys Allowed! the game

Hello! Late to thread. Just played demo. Art is fantastic; love the tone and color of the images. You are a master. The opening moments are slow. Let me give some specific advice. I used to be a fiction editor for a magazine, so I know what it's like to read bad stories every single day. The most im...

Re: Real Life: A Bishoujo Adventure

For the speed at which it was completed, it's great! I liked the insanity the best, since it was fun when you were breaking out of the cliches and into the silly. If this were fark, you'd need Admiral Ackbar popping up early on. Not hinted well that this was a trap, and given every other decision wa...
