Making VNs with Unity??

Hi guys I'm looking to try and make a VN with Unity not that I dislike Ren'Py or anything I'm just much more familiar with Unity than anything else after using it for school and all. I was wondering if there's any already made Unity based plugins (or script) or what not for making VNs if not then I'...

Music Matrix Composer

Hi guys. This isn't really anything about a VN or a VN or a VN beta or anything like that. This is about Music Matrix Composer (MMC) which is a music composition program that is simple to use which you can use to compose OSTs and BGMs for your VNs. The only bad part about this program is it is still...

Re: Copying As A Way To Improve - Yes/No?

it depends on where you are with your art. if your just starting out then definitely. in copying you learn alot of the techniques in art such as how to draw lines, how to shade, how to see more and so on and so forth. additionally you learn alot of the technical stuff as well. however once you have ...

Re: installed vs play online.

Very interesting feedback that i'm getting. Alot of the problem that I have listed are from the fact that I am technically relatively new to ren.py and to VN as well. and from that stand point alot of the things that are aforementioned may in fact work the other way. One thing that i find is that as...

Re: installed vs play online.

so from the looks of it sketchy internet connection and losing your game when the developers decides to shut down a games servers is the main reason against fully online games... which does bring up a good point. and no piracy is not of my main concern at the current moment though. Thanks for the th...

installed vs play online.

So I'm not sure how many of you thought of this before but I'm pretty sure that it has came across at least one person's mind before but lets think about this, how much of a turn off is having to download a game for you? Personally I dont really like having to download a game just to play it. I hone...

Re: Coder Desperately Needed for Sci-Fi/Mystery Series

Well HTML5 is still new and is not expected to completely take over for another 4-5 years. by the time they have things fixed, hopefully all browsers will support a universal form of streaming sound (likely OGG) the problem isn't only with audio, it's also the same thing with video where you will ne...

Re: Ren'Py to E-Book converter

As much as I like this idea, I cant say it's a very good idea. Sorry. The reason is because we are moving away from paper media and people are moving into tablets like iPad, Android tablets and windows 8 tables and so on so e-readers although were cool for a bit, people never jumped it. As someone w...

Re: 3d in renpy

Well the thing about trying to run 3D in ren.py is that ren.py operates of python which is an interpreted language. the problem with that is the machine needs time to translate each line into machine code then run the code for each and every single line and happens every time in a loop of any sort. ...

Re: [Newbie] Programmer for Hire (Unpaid)

You do know that Ren.Py isn't the ONLY thing people use right? if your a pro programmer then I would actually suggest you join projects not based in Ren.Py as it is a really easy to use VN tool that can be used for basically everything and doesn't take much to learn. Instead i'd recommend that you j...

Re: How do you like the UI?

personally, i find the display text to be awfully small and hard to read. if you dont have alot of text to go though then it wont be much of a problem but the text size seems a bit too small. just personal preference though.
