Re: Lake of Voices [Free][Horror, Tragedy, Dark Fantasy][GxB/G]

Great job on a cool VN! The strong atmosphere and original setting really drew me in. I’ve been obsessively trying to go through all the various story permutations for a few days now. Top notch production values all around. Everyone who worked on this has a lot to be proud of.

Re: A Short Ghost Story

I loved this so much! I gave it a try since I love ghosts, and it didn't disappoint! The graphics are really beautiful, I love the graphic novel style storyboards, and the main character's ease and disbelief with everything. I love the interesting ghost theory, really grabbed me. And not gonna lie,...

Re: [redacted] Life (Horror/Comedy) (NaNoRenO 2016)

Here is a walkthrough I made for you. Thanks for this tip. I was overthinking things and looking through other app files instead of the one right in front of me :D This game is genius-level stuff. Being naturally skeptical of everything these days, I found the initial description I read in a review...

That did the trick, thanks :)

Re: Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Ren'Py

I must be psychic or psychotic or psy-something. Over the summer I had been wondering about combining Ren'py with an Alicebot, so I was happy to see this. The demo isn't working for me on the Mac version though. I can type, but there are no answers. The only thing that gets any response is the "...

Re: A Short Ghost Story

Thanks for all the kind words. It's good motivation for getting back into VNs. Yeah, comics have given me a taste for overly elaborate visuals. Getting all the art I want for the next one is going to be a challenge. It wouldn't make a good comic, so I can't cheat by doing it that way first :D Once I...

Re: A Short Ghost Story

Oh, hey! Thanks for checking it out. I really lucked out getting Alana Yuen to do the illustrations. They make the story. I've been meaning to get back into Ren'Py for a long time, so this week I set an arbitrary goal to put something new together in time for Halloween. Looking for presentation exam...

Re: TRAP! [ModernFantasy][VN] PG-16!

Thanks for making Trap! It's one of the best examples I've found of good, short Ren'Py interactive storytelling. I usually find sprites cheesy and distracting to the VN experience, but yours are magnificently done and seamless. I also liked the story's replay value. The safe choice was easy to make,...

Re: A Short Ghost Story

Thanks for trying it out. :) I hadn't thought of how it's like a motion comic now. That wasn't my intention, but since the source art was from one of my Webcomics , there's an inevitable connection. The animations were all pretty simple actually. The tutorial and references explain everything well e...

Re: A Short Ghost Story

I really like your suggestions :) Someday when I get back to this, and I really want to, sound is something I'll need to work on. Most people seem to like music, but maybe that "hum" would be a good way to go too. But right now my next priority is to check out Y;N because your trailer is g...

Re: A Short Ghost Story

Thanks for the encouragement! Transitions in places like the title screen and other pages that require a space-bar advance were mainly due to my lack of confidence in judging how fast people read. You guys are right about how it seems to introduce a stutter to the reading experience though. I see th...

Re: A Short Ghost Story

Thanks for the feedback! Music would be great. I hadn't thought of that. I mainly made this story to see how difficult it would be to learn Ren'Py -- the basics, at least, seem pretty easy, but I know I'm missing a lot of details like that, which need to be pointed out to me at my beginner level. So...

It has all the builds but I've only tested it on a Mac.
The story has no jump scares, but
skip the extra/optional bit at the end.

Re: A Short Ghost Story

I thought it was very cute. The art is very nice and overall I really enjoyed the presentation. I liked the use of scrolling, "tap" animations, and sound effects. The different angles and divided screens were used to great effect; it was visually interesting. I think the title screen is f...

A Short Ghost Story

Title: The Witch's Scissors Type: Short Story Genre: Horror / Ghost Story Read Time: About 5 to 10 minutes Does anyone feel like testing out a short VN horror story? I think it's finished, but this is my first time using Ren'Py, so I'd like to make sure I didn't miss anything. The Witch's Scissors i...
