Do you mean in real time ? I guess you could if the whole game was in flash. Yet, it may take more time considering one only needs an image to get started.rioka wrote:Wouldn't you be able to do it in flash and onion skinning?

Re: Visual Novel Tech Improvement - Motion Portraits
I agree this is really a step up. Also, I'd love to be able to use something like that, with one sprite you can animate a lot of expressions.

Re: Visual Novel Tech Improvement - Motion Portraits
Will VN in PC also follow this footstep? It could, I think it can be done with Ren'py, with some work in setting up the sprite off course, and coding the displayable. Jinzou Tamashi did something along that line, although the body doesn't move, it was already pretty nice. http://www.youtube.com/wat...

Re: 6.11 Development
The other big new feature is the new Scene Language, which will be a new way of defining interface screens. Do you mean it will enable users to customize the menus , kind of like image maps do ? Or is it for in-game interfaces, or both ? Is there a place where you wrote about this before ? composit...

Re: Battle Engine?
Awesome !That's the idea, yes.
That just rocks, can't wait to see that !I plan to implement it as a loosely-coupled component that the same engine can use, and distribute it alongside said engine, if that's what you mean.

Re: Battle Engine?
As DaFool said, it's related to the ATB-style of battle, as seen in Final Fantasy games and similar. It's an initiative/readiness meter, really - it gradually fills, at different rates for different characters, and once it reaches maximum for a character, that character gets a turn. Once they use t...

Thank you for explaining that Dafool.
But then I don't understand how or why this Active Time Battle gauge is defined, sorry but I only played T-RPG where this didn't exist like Vandal Hearts and such.

Re: Battle Engine?
Very nice engine ! I must say the icons are pretty cool, I like the sound effects when you hit and also the way the sprites dissapear. The choices between move and attack and defend are interesting, because somehow you then have an interface that flows quite well, so in the case of a rpg-VN I think ...

I'm gonna test this once I'm home, the screencap is sweet, those life bars near the characters are just plain awesome, and I'm curious what kind of battle system you went for, I guess it's turned based ? And is that a fog of war ? Ah can't wait to try it out !
