Re: Do you feel cheated if choices do not affect the ending?
I kinda feel, yes. I remember in The Walking Dead me and my girlfriend had to make a few "tought" decision (like save this or that character) just to discover after ending the game that they wouldn't have changed what would have happened, only how other characters feel towards you. I didn'...

Re: Help! Making clean PNGs
Try the grim color reaper plugin for paint.NET.
You should tell your artist to work on a transparent layer to avoid this problem. When painting with transparent pixels, if the background isn't transparent the pixel will merge with the background creating this annoying effect.

Re: Ren'Py games on websites or even as a Facebook App?
I definitely saw visual novels on Facebook. What game engine allows you to do that? Or do people code from scratch? There are a few HTML5 engines, like Construct 2, which are developed for games in general but can easily be adapted to create visual novels. It's also possible to code from scratch, H...

Re: Ren'Py Documentation/Wiki
\\Ren'Py is pretty amazing :) We could make it work if it was community driven, PyTom/any other devs time would be much better spent on actual development (as it is now), making documentation takes almost as much time as actual coding. I agree, PyTom and the other developers should definately focus...

Ren'Py Documentation/Wiki
This has probably been asked/answered before, but I couldn't find anything up-to-date, so here it is... Ren'Py is an amazing tool with a... Well, how can I say it... Less than stellar documentation. I don't know the behind-the-scenes so this isn't a critique to anyone in particular, it's just a stat...
Re: Guestbook
Hello to everyone. I've been a long time lurker on this forum. While I already posted some of my work on this forum, I never formally introduced myself, so I thought it would be more educated to do so :) I currently live in Italy. I am a writer/filmmaker/gamemaker who has recently discovered the wor...

Re: A Short Ghost Story
I really, really enjoyed it. The presentation is really original and felt like watching a short movie. Really helped setting the mood. I admit my heart skipped a beat when the witch appeared behind the girl My only gripe is the lack of music which would have power charged the mood. One really small ...

Re: The Call [short, mystery][Ludum Dare 26]
Thanks you for the feedback, I really appreciate it! And don't worry, you are not missing out on much... Both the "endings" are just 4 lines of text put there to end the call, so either choice doesn't matter that much (even though one is more amusing than the other, I guess
).

The Call [short, mystery][Ludum Dare 26]
http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/wp-content/compo2/233892/21736-shot0.png This is my first game ever and my first run at using Ren'Py. Created in 72 hours for the Ludum Dare 26 jam (it should have been done for the 48 hour compo but being my first time making a game I obviously messed up stuff and go...
